Note: this is for Barracuda Caribbean White Blended Premium Rum which is not at all the same as Barracuda Silver Rum which is the one the RumX app defaults to for some reason. I cannot find the Premium rum in the app, but it is nonetheless the one I am describing here (see photo): Delicious funky smell of override, almost rotten tropical fruit of pineapple and banana. Powerful nose. On the palate it is more subdued, but the same kind of notes though I get a kind of wood character though it must be my imagination. Short, astringent finish. Disappointing 38% ABV. Still much better than feared for a budget rum which I get the impression is not well-known. Too bad the nose is better than the taste.
