Late evening tasting after getting home from dinner out. Nose: Round, woody, light leather, light cherry, faint chocolate, light floral, light nuts. Palate: Light oily, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, light chocolate, floral, spice, light anise, light cherry. Finish: Medium long, round, light oily, wood, light coffee, light chocolate, dried fruit. Empty glass: Chocolate, light coffee, raisin, light coffee, light floral.

After the Ricci family snagged first place at the RumX Awards, I had to take a closer look at their bottlings. For me, this is a very balanced blend that plays well together, with a bit of dominance from Guyana. The low ABV spoils it a bit as it feels a little watered down and thin at the end.

Relatively light blend in aromas. Dominated by Guyana. Fresh fruits, woodiness, a slight leather. It's fine, it's good, but not transcendent.
