Very good blend of Jamaican rums, very fruity and funky. At 46%, it is ideal for beginners who want to get to know Jamaican rum. At the same time, it is also interesting for connoisseurs who want to try their hand at tasting the different distilleries. If there were to be an unreduced bottling of this, I would be there in a heartbeat.

Fruchtiger Rum mit Tropenfrüchten in der Nase und im Abgang. Bleibt am Gaumen allerdings arg flach und kann da kaum überzeugen. Alles in allem ein netter Rum, der nichts verkehrt macht, mich aber auch nicht vom Hocker reißt. Tschuldigung, sehe jetzt erst, dass der gut hundert Euro kosten soll. Zu dem Preis kann ich nur sagen: Finger weg. 82/100 oder 5/10

Nice sour lime on the nose with some mango sweetness, increasing wood notes with a bit more time in the glass. I like it very much. Quite sweet on the palate but not extraordinarily spectacular. Some banana, roasted wood and spices, surprisingly sharp for 46%. If the taste could have kept up with the nose I would have been in immediately, so it is tasty but not worth buying for me.

Very fruity nose, pleasant with a slight ester note. On the palate this repeats: tropical fruits, very round and soft, but also a bit watery. A higher ABV would have been good. The price-performance ratio is very average, there is really better for less money.

Tasted during the RumX masterclass. Huge thanks the guys from R&BT for presenting their range! Very nice exploration of some low(we) ester marks. While some of the noses were a little light, the long aged expressions are very interesting on the palate across the board. Very interesting! :) Very well executed blend with a lot flavor on the plate despite the low ABV. Nice one.

07.02.2024 retasting at online tasting with Rest & Be Thankful. Nose Light roasted wood, fruits, light medicinal, faint tar. Palate Light roasted wood, fruits, light medicinal, naturally sweet. Finish Medium long, naturally sweet, citrus, light caramel, faint medicinal. Very thick slow moving curtains in the glass. After the RumX R&BT tasting on 7.2., tasted the rest again more calmly: To start, the Assemblage. A blend from Clarendon, Long Pond, New Yarmouth and Worthy Park, all aged at least 13 years. On the nose citrus soda, kumquat, milk cream. Sandalwood. On the palate spicy, fruity, quite mild. Delicious, relaxed sipper. The 46% ABV fits well here.

So this is the last one of the Rum&Co Sample Set, and the best one as well. In general I am quite fond of Jamaica and Funk, and this Rum has some of it. Not overly much, but enough to bring this natural sweetness, Ananas and Esters. It is suitable as a sipper and good as an entry to more eccentric Rums. The finish does provide a nice change by switching from fruit to wood, but that is expected looking at the age of the Blend.

Creamy & slight ester notes on the nose. Citrus fruits. Gentle mouthfeel, still creamy and nice fruits on the pallate. A bit wood & spices. Easy sipper with a medium-short finish. With a bit higher abv would be really enjoyable :)

Teil des Rest & Be Thankful tastings (danke an RumX und F.L.O. fürs Teilen). Schöne und interessante Veranstaltung. Alle Kanditaten hatten eine sehr schöne Nase. Am besten haben mir das LSO und MPG Profil zugesagt. Insgesamt fehlte mir aber oft die tropische Reifung. Der hier mit am Gaumen präsenten Alkohol, trotz nur 46%, und dann doch wieder irgendwie verdünnt, seltsam. Aber eine schöne Nase.

Very inviting nose. Typical Jamaica associations (tropical fruits, especially pineapple, glue and pleasant vanilla notes from the barrel aging). After 30 minutes the aromas unfold even more. On the palate, despite the reduction to 46%, quite creamy. A very nice rum for Jamaica beginners.

Interesting blend from several Jamaican distilleries that comes reduced at 46% but brings enough complexity. Probably a very good choice for beginners (tastings) as this blend simply tastes delicious. Especially the citrus fruits on the nose and the banana on the palate stand out strongly, which strongly reminds one of Worthy Park.

Not as thin as you might think at 46%. Also the blend of the four distillates is pleasing. Nice entry-level Jamaican, which could however handle a few more degrees. For just over 80 euros you can expect that, I think.

Master tasting from Rest & Be Thankful via RumX This is an exceptional blend from four different Jamaican distilleries. It offers a broad spectrum of different aromas, but in my opinion it is too reduced. Without reduction, many flavors would certainly be added or be much more present. All in all, a good rum for beginners

Very fruity Jamaica blend. On the nose you mainly recognize pineapple and mango. On the palate notes of cask and spices join in. Alcohol was reduced to 46%, still quite present. Will be used soon for an entry-level tasting.

8,2:On the nose, esters and solvents, fermented, overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, citrus fruits, vegetal molasses, spicy, oaky roasted wood notes like pastry, cookie dough and caramel, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, lime and green fruits are out, grassy molasses, mineral, chocolate with cinnamon, some rubber. 7,9:On the palate, the attack is funky, medicinal with esters, rubber, slightly metallic, sweet, fruity with overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, red and citrus fruits, on oxidation mango and papaya, as the wood is roasted with caramel, pastry, spicy with vanilla and pepper, salty, the molasses is grassy with hay, vegetal with olive hints. 7,8:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, medicinal, the molasses is grassy, sweet with honey, the fruits are red, tropical and green, the wood is more roasted with caramel, confectionery, chocolate and roasted nuts, spicy. Very nice introduction to the Jamaican profile - fruit, balanced sweetness, plus some wood spice. Doesn't go to extremes, so not too demanding, yet the DNA remains recognizable. Pleases well.

RumX/Kirsch-Online-Tasting Rest&Be Thankful! A blend from 4 Jamaica distilleries: 39% Clarendon 14yo, 39% Long Pond 16yo, 20% New Yarmouth 16yo and 2% Worthy Park 13yo. Unfortunately bottled at only 46% ABV, so today's entry. Nose: fresh, citrus fruits, mainly lime and green mango. Also slightly woody and spicy. Despite the low ABV, sufficiently intense but still not thrilling. 7.2 Palate: also sufficiently intense for only 46%. Sweet at first, has something of sugar water and marzipan, now licorice or lovage with banana. Then spicy and slightly salty-peppery. Licorice also in the finish. Not bad at all, I'd say an easy sipper. 7.8

An entry-level rum with reduced ABV. Fruity (sour fruits like pineapple, citrus, apple) and youthful. On the palate spices dominate, rounded off with a pleasant sweetness. On the finish chocolate, honey, banana, wonderfully combined.

A successful blend that is quite broadly positioned from fruits to spices and pleases as a subtle companion with toasty oak aromas. Unfortunately, dilution prevents a more lasting experience, but otherwise it's a really well-rounded thing.

Very intense on the nose, Jamaica for advanced. Overripe, fermented fruit, citric acidity, glue and tar. Lots going on in the mouth. The front half sweet and no longer so muddy fermented. Mango and tingly pineapple, generally lots of fruit sweetness and citrus freshness. The second half then estrous, funky, vanilla, tar, light spiciness, salt and banana. Wood only in the finish, medicinal and especially banana. Complex fun and yet surprisingly catchy. If you like tar & co. Addendum spontaneous Jamaica excursion: Shows where it can go in the dry direction. In retrospect, a little weak on the chest, but quite pleasant Sipper.

Significantly less intensity than the sounding composition of the blend would lead one to expect. Perhaps it may be due to the dilution and continental maturation of the individual rums. Pleasing (mild) blend; pure too boring and not intense enough for the cocktail.

Conditions - tried neat in a Glencarin glass Nose - pretty mellow nose. sweet funk, Demerara sugar, light peat. Smells almost like a blend of Guyanese rum and scotch whiskey with a hint of funk. Quite round on the nose. Mellow Smoke. Vanilla and toffee after it sits. Palate - super dry. Drinks almost more like a scotch then a Jamaican rum. Black licorice, black pepper, oak. A little caramel, bunt cola, roots, peppermint and Indian sarsaparilla come out after ten or so minutes. Finish - Medium length finish. RC cola, dark chocolate, peat moss. Kind of reminds me of Talisker a bit Thoughts - this is good! A very interesting and unique blend unlike any other aged Jamaican rum blend I’ve had. Seemingly more savory than the lush, tropical fruit notes I’m used to, but varietys the spice of life.
