Poured neat, this is a sipping rum through and through — a single John Dore pot still St. Lucia at 59% that reads warmer than its ABV suggests. Expect roasted wood, pineapple, tobacco smoke and a clear vein of sweetness, with leather and vanilla underneath. Several tasters call it a touch too sweet and note it lacks the depth of other Chairman's bottlings, but it drinks easy and long.

Chairmans Reserve is one of my favorites in the rum world. Today a little wild tasting between 4 representatives. 1st UK Rum Club 2011, 9yr An average Chairmans on my tongue, which is basically already very good. Red fruits, citrus fruit, burnt sugar, spices and wood set the tone here. The alcohol is well integrated. 84 pts. 2. cigar store, 2010, 11yr Astringent on the palate and with a special musty wood-fruit note. Very tasty and also unusual. The finish is medium long with burnt sugar and fruit. 86 pts. 3. royal mile, 2011, 9yr Very smooth creamy on the palate, with more herbs than its peers. Dirty notes. 86 pts. 4th WuDramClan, 2009, 14yr Somehow a mixture of all the representatives of the tasting. Initially weak on the palate, then increasingly astringent and very dry, with lots of fruit, becoming increasingly herbal and woody with time. Very interesting, complex Chairmans. 87 pts.

#6002 29.11.2025 Warming up before the tasting at Whisky Watcher in Odense tonight. Nose Intense, wood, light roasted, butterscotch, light earthy, banana, light vanilla, faint citrus. Palate Intense, warm, wood, roasted, nutmeg, dried fruit, light caramel, pineapple, tobacco. Finish Long and warm, wood, roasted, light vanilla, light caramel, banana. Empty glass Vanilla, caramel, berries, faint chocolate, faint pineapple.

A very solid selection from Saint Lucia. The nose is rich and generous with first notes of roasted pineapple, raisins and red fruits, then notes of black tea, tobacco and smoke. Oak and spices accompany the empyreumatic notes and offer a nice balance of flavors. The slight floral and medicinal touch, like glue, is very pleasant. A coherent, structured and pleasant whole. The attack on the palate is invigorating with freshness, floral notes, tea, citrus and pineapple. Then come contrasting dried fruits, tobacco, empyreumatic notes and spices (especially chili). The combination of freshness and smokiness works well, offering an explosive and balanced mix. The profile is a bit drier but retains its elegance. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is of correct length, a bit more subtle and with dry, earthy and fresh tones. The dried and exotic fruits keep their gourmandise, while the roasted and spicy oak enhances the palate. A good rum from Saint Lucia, perfectly illustrating all the versatility and quality of its terroir.

🥃 Chairman's Reserve Master's Selection 2010 – 59% This exclusive selection made for Cigar Shops is a pure Pot Still (John Dore 1), distilled in 2010 in Saint Lucia. After 11 years of tropical aging in ex-bourbon casks, it was bottled in 2021 at 59%, for only 276 bottles. 👃 On the nose, it's immediately indulgent: a beautiful woodiness accompanied by an explosion of cherries and citrus. 👄 On the palate, the fruits are present with a nice freshness of citrus and cherry, complemented by notes of dark chocolate and vanilla. 🔥 The finish is long, elegant, and marked by a smoky touch. Ultimately, what could be more logical for a bottling aimed at cigar lovers? A particularly successful Saint Lucia!
