Ron Cubay Añejo
Opinions land all over the place — one taster finds it too sweet, another calls it dry and mild, and the truth is it sits somewhere in between. Warm oak, a touch of cocoa and a light vanilla note over a fairly dry, easygoing body. At 38% it's soft and short on the finish. Better as a low-key sipper than most expect, and it makes a genuinely rich Cuba Libre.

Quite dry, getting more towards the realms of a sipper for me than the younger Cubays. The 7 years aging is having an affect, the vanilla and wood are softening the taste.

Read full review →It really is a lot better as a sipper than I expected. It would certainly qualify as a bargain sipper. Mixed in a Cuba Libre it works very well - making a very rich, luxurious and smooth drink. You can pick up all three Ron Cubay rums for under £90....
