First of all, how much the rums of the original Demerara distilleries differ from today's Diamond distillates ! It would be exciting to know whether ddl today not only uses the old distilleries - but also still have access to the yeasts from the mud broth of the original distilleries.Of the four Jack Tars from the March lottery, this is my favorite !My score is measured purely on my personal sensation, since I have no frame of reference to evaluate such a thing. At this point I would like to thank RumX again, to enable us to taste such rums, which one would not normally even buy!In the nose I perceive a peppery tequila / mezcal note and something leathery and somewhere there is also something floral. At rum I have not yet perceived something olfactory. On the palate, it's really exciting - the 56% seems like drinking strength - at first herbs, then something meaty, burnt - reminds me of the meat note that I've noticed in a few Octomore whiskies.Hintenraus is then still vanilla / caramel and something floral, herbal and at the very end still cane sugar - insanely exciting rum, but not a simple rum.I would have him only in the finish at all associated with Guyana. This is really fun, even if it is exhausting and I personally would probably need at least half a bottle to be able to taste it adequately and to train my own sense of taste at it.This is for me nothing that immediately tastes heavenly out of the bottle - even if I personally find it very tasty - but much more something that opens up new worlds of taste.
Excellent dégustation, une rondeur en première bouche , suivie d'un coup de peps puis adoucies et persistant.....note de vanille en bouche très équilibré un pur régal.( Avis personnel)
#4087 This is a very elegant rum with very good ABV integration. After resting the rum is well rounded an has great balance in the flavours. Very light fruit and nice wood. Draws beautiful curtains and the empty glass has very light licorice notes.
Very nice nose. I'm not used to demerara, it's surprising, this herbaceous side with a rather complex woody taste is pleasant.
