The nose is invitingly fresh, fruity with the typical agricole note. The taste is rather characterized by vegetal and peppery notes but still mild. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is long, peppery, grassy with some pencil shavings in the background. The pencil shavings are only noticeable for a short moment. As a Ti-Punch, the pepper is very noticeable, followed by grassy notes. This Rhum/Ti-Punch is rather dry. Can also be enjoyed neat.

L'authentique is made in the pure tradition by the small family distillery La Favorite. They use an old steam engine to crush the cane. The fermentation is long and natural and for distillation they use a small Creole column. This is a rum that works well both neat and in a Ti’Punch. The nose is soft, mellow, spicy, sweet, fruity and floral with aromas of citrus, sugarcane, pepper and mineral. At the palate it’s well-balanced, fruity and bitter with flavors of pepper, cane juice and lime zest. The finish is medium long with the flavors from the palate remaining together with a taste of olives.

Caribbean vacation September 2026. We bought this in the supermarket on Martinique. Of course, for non-rum drinkers, an unaged Agricole is a good challenge. Yes, it’s very vegetal, you either love it or hate it.

#5581 22.08.2025 Relaxing with a set of samples while listening to some new Trance tracks. Nose Fresh, citrus, sugarcane, light floral, faint smoke, fruity. Palate Fresh, round, light oily, sugarcane, citrus, flora, medium dry, medium spicy, light olive. Finish Medium long, fresh, round, citrus, light olive, light sugarcane. Empty glass Olive, citrus, light floral, faint anise.

Sugarcane & pepper. Not super complex but pleasant. A slight bitterness that reminds me of Trois Rivières.

Tasted in sample. It’s an explosion of sugar cane and olives in brine. Rum with fresh, green, grassy notes with a good spiciness reminiscent of pepper. A very good rum in perfect agricole style.

Excellent value for money, the cane is dominant, it's very vegetal, then the pepper appears and stays well present throughout the tasting, in the finish there remains a very pleasant freshness with the cane, pepper and lemon zest.
