RumX Rarities jour 2. Un nez de la Barbade avec des fruits tropicaux, coco, mais aussi des fruits jaunes, poire et pomme. Un léger vernis. La bouche est douce, les arômes se développent harmonieusement, beaucoup de fruits et le bois est discret, tout comme l’alcool (mais ce rhum n’a que 40%). La finale n’est pas très longue, harmonieuse comme l’ensemble de ce rhum très agréable. Le verre vide est plus sur le bois et une amertume qui donne du relief aux fruits.

Auf dieses „Foursquare-Urgestein“ war ich schon sehr gespannt. Bereits 2008 abgefüllt und reines Column Still Destillat. Tolle Foursquare-DNA in der Nase - obwohl hier kein Pot Still Anteil mit dabei ist. Viel Kokosnuss, Vanille, Marshmallows und etwas Zitrusfrüchte. Schöner Holzeinfluss. Die Verdünnung macht ihn sehr elegant und einladend. Am Gaumen cremig, rund und sehr süß (ohne künstlich zu wirken). Durch die Verdünnung fehlt dem Rum etwas der Wumms. Aber für einen entspannten Abend genau das Richtige! 😙🥃

Elegant and surprisingly intensive nose given the low ABV. Unfortunately, this is much more noticeable on the palate. Very pleasant and elegant on the palate yet again. This one is a nice example of an excellent column Rum.

die #2 aus dem Rarities Kalender. An der Nase Kokosnuss, Fass und eine dezente Fruchtigkeit in Richtung Orangensaft und Mandarine. Am Gaumen habe ich Muskatnuss, die in altes Fass (Tannine) übergeht. Mit der Verdünnung fehlt leider etwas der Tiefgang, gerade weil mir der jüngst verkostete Raconteur (mit seinen 61%) noch recht präsent ist.

Edit: Dank Rums, der mir sein Raritäten Sample überlassen hat, konnte ich diesen nochmal in aller Ruhe verkosten. Deshalb habe ich ihn ein wenig nach oben korrigiert. Im Grunde kein schlechter Rum, aber mir fehlt etwas an dem typischen Foursquare Profil. Für das er so runter verdünnt ist, kann er aber schon einiges, hätte ich jetzt nicht gedacht.

Un vieux Millésime de chez Foursquare, dont le premier nez m’avait fait penser à un rhum agricole assez sec mais avec des notes pâtissières très marquées sur le toffee, la brioche, le caramel, le sucre brun et le biscuit. Le profil gagne en boisé, en épices, en chocolat, en agrumes et en fruits secs après aération. On rentre dans les cases d’un Foursquare plus généraliste. L’attaque en bouche est très gouleyante et accessible. La dilution en fait un rhum facile à appréhender mais qui manque de corps et de caractère. L’esprit de Foursquare est toujours présent avec la noix de coco, le caramel et les notes sucrées, le chocolat, le boisé et les épices douces. La finale est courte, assez fine et n’a pas beaucoup d’impact, même si on retrouve globalement les marqueurs de la distillerie. Un bon rhum pour se détendre ou faire découvrir un autre univers à des néophytes, mais qui perd de son potentiel avec la dilution.

Gut für Einsteiger in die Welt des Rums geeignet. Schön ausgeglichen. Durch die Reduktion geht ordentlich Komplexität verloren. Jedoch ein schön entspannter Sipper.

Sehr starker Einsteigerrum. Mit nur 40% kann der einiges. Ganz viel Kokosnuss, feine Fruchtnote mit schöner Süße. Für Fortgeschrittene ist es aber nur ein verwässerter Foursquare.

Foursquare in Reinform, durch die Reduktion auf Trinkstärke sehr zugänglich und mit erkennbarer Fruchtigkeit, dafür andererseits ohne nachhaltigen Abgang. Sehr angenehm zu trinken, schöner Einstiegsrum - für eine höhere Bewertung fehlt mir die Komplexität.

Foursquare ist für mich ohnehin nicht die spannendste Destillerie, mit der Verdünnung und dem damit einhergehenden Verlust an Körper ist das Profil aber nochmals weniger interessant. Nett, diesen Dino mal probiert zu haben, mehr aber auch nicht.
