Comes out of the glass more like a fruit schnapps than a rum — fresh sugarcane, green grass, apple and a fermented tang, with a Clairin-like wildness that surprises people. One member nails it as "Rocket Fuel." Unaged and running at 65%, it's raw and one-note neat; several tasters found it flat on the palate but hot, and reached for a mixer instead.

#4577 26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirit This is a pretty good unaged and I tested in a Coca Cola where it performs pretty well. Nose Fresh, fruity, light grass, faint olive, sugarcane. Palate Lightly oily, fresh, fruity, light mint, ester. Finish Medium long, fruity, light grass.

Oh yes, unripened, long fermented rum made from fresh sugar cane juice. Could actually be from anywhere, is very similar to a Clairin, but comes from Ghana. Nose: fresh, green, vegetal and fermented. Overripe, liquefying green paprila, pickled artichoke, some chamomile and the sweetness of honeydew melon and freshly squeezed sugar cane juice. A beautiful but challenging blend. 6,6 Palate: pleasant despite the 65%, slightly creamy, spicy and fruity, with apple and bergamot. Green and yet malty. Sweetness of tonka bean, nougat and cocoa. Caraway and a little pepper. Pleasing, good mixer. 7,0

On the nose, Ghana is immediately recognizable, delicious. On the palate, however, I do not like the rum so well, it is somehow flat and strong at the same time, so flat in terms of taste, strong in terms of alcohol, the combination does not fit. Since the grandiose label can also save nothing. However, I can imagine that the rum would make an excellent Ti-Punch.

Für den Preis ist diese Abfüllung mehr als in Ordnung. Ghana finde ich schon immer spannend, aber pur hat er mich nicht so wirklich abgeholt. Als Mixer aber macht er denoch für den Preis eine gute Figur.

Pooh, it's got steam! 65% quite clearly, tastes like a fruit schnapps, but not a bad one. Compared to the 2-year-old Honeybatcher, it's clearly flatter and altogether quite one-dimensional, but storage is good for the stuff. Maybe something for a drink. I also like to try rum aged neat to better understand the distillery character, but I don't enjoy it much...

Again, side by side I am super impressed with the Ghanaian rums this is a lot more to pack and a lot more to taste. Pure this comes to its limits but still a lovely offer on the drink mixing side. Quite a.catch
