Short trip to Lake Constance December 2025. Shop Steinhauser in Kressbronn. I also tasted it on site and since I liked it better than the one with Port Cask Finish, I bought this one here. Spice and wood/cask are noticeable here. Very tasty.

It's strange with these fruit brandy notes in German distillates. Mostly they disturb. But a PX cask seems to bring a lot out of them. The nose here has fresh notes like grass, lime, and other citrus fruits. A hint of caramel, lots of sherry, some fruit brandy. On the palate quite sweet, even more sherry, vegetal and some caramel and vanilla. This gives the fruit brandy note the environment where it actually makes sense and blossoms. Impressive for a German! Addendum: After a round of Jamaica, it no longer seems fruity brandy-like at all, but very PX-like.
