The surprise here is the chocolate — it sneaks up mid-palate and lands hard, alongside coconut, plenty of oak and a little glue on the nose. Several tasters catch red grape and grape jelly with cinnamon on the finish. This is a woodier, drier Belize than most, and the 55% keeps it warm but easygoing rather than fierce.

Note: Employment at Perola GmbH (spirits industry), partial professional involvement with the evaluated bottlings. All reviews are my personal, unpaid opinion. Nice Belize with a bit more wood influence than usual and a slight note of grape jelly, cinnamon, cocoa, and sandalwood. Very mild and balanced thanks to the 55%, personally I would have preferred cask strength but for that you have a harmonious, entry-friendly Belize Single Cask Rum for under 100€! I especially like the slight note of fresh red grapes and cinnamon on the finish.

Belize tasting with DomM Thought it couldn't get any worse, then this one came along. Somehow, I seem to get along with this profile. I find most Travellers just too alcoholic. Simply not my world.

#5121 01.03.2025 tasting at Whiskymessen.dk 2025. Nose Fresh, wood, light roasted, light cinnamon, light orange, faint glue, light floral. Palate Warm, round, wood, light glue, light floral, light chocolate, cinnamon, light nutmeg, medium spicy, dry, light orange. Finish Long and warm, round, wood, dried fruit, light nutts, light chocolate.

Classic Belize notes with burnt caramel, coconut and some fruits. The lower ABV makes it more acessible, but flattens the profile making it worse overall.

Bellamy tasting. A lively, deep nose with milk chocolate, glue, bourbon and sandalwood. The palate is generous and smooth, with a beautiful complexity of chocolate, wild rose, chili, bourbon and fruit. The finish is long, elegant and rich. You feel like you're in an old colonial house with the windows open and lots of different scents. A discovery, Belize is definitely very interesting.

And then a bit of Belize, which I've also been putting off for too long. Also here, the expected: slight sweetness thanks to chocolate, caramel, and coconut, the ABV is right, and some cask/wood notes are also noticeable.

The taste is quite dry and spicy with hints of roasted nuts, sandalwood, maple syrup and dark chocolate, as well as a hint of cinnamon and grape jelly in the aftertaste - I actually like it 😁👍

Very pleasing on the nose. Coconut, little fruit. Grape, lots of wood.Completely surprising on the palate then chocolaty - and clearly so. Cinnamon in the spiciness and grape seed in the finish.

A bit of a disappointment, the alcohol is quite strongly felt and overpowers the pleasant flavors that could have been felt in the rum if maybe the rum had stayed in the barrel a few more years.

Nice Belize with coconut, chocolate, and woody spice. A bit edgy and sharp in the finish, but you don’t really notice the strength while drinking. Overall a good rum, but it doesn’t feel smooth and is a bit unbalanced.

Quite woody Belize with the classic aromas. The slight dilution suits it well in my opinion. That makes it very relaxed to drink, but it could get lost among the many Belize bottlings.
