Sipped neat in tiny pours, this cask-strength cane-juice rum drinks far softer than its 80.4% suggests — several tasters swear it feels closer to 65. #6681 23.04.2026 Relaxing with some more recent samples after my bike training. Listening to A State of Trance on Spotify. A pretty good rum when looking at the price tag and a powerful one,. Fruity and floral with nice nuts.

More on the salty side in terms of taste. A little too much acetone for me, but the alcohol is well integrated for the high alcohol content.

An interesting and evolving experience. First good point: the 80 degrees are really okay, they feel more like 65. Then, the cane is there, but very green, with a mix of smells that made me think of holidays at the sea, feet in the sand. On the palate it turns completely into a grape eau de vie, like Grappa I think. Finish not long enough, but nice. Good experience! Clearly atypical.

Unusually strongly reminiscent of grappa. Alcohol relatively well integrated. In the daiquiri it reminds of artichoke, salt, thyme and licorice. Extra points for the high alcohol content which surprisingly does not hurt much😅.

The nose is explosive and delicious, with intense hints of custard, butter, then citrus and slightly earthy/vegetal/floreal notes. Similar to the Bologne Black Cane. In the mouth it melts proving 20 degrees down giving room for roasted hazelnuts and citrus to make itself felt recalling a bit of a grape spirit. All in an 'extreme underlying sweetness and softness. In the empty pastry glass. This is a treat that positively amazed me. 80 degrees and not feeling it!

Superb brut de colonne, with a rather particular nose but a crazy sweetness, a real ultra concentrated pressed cane juice, a real trip to the sun.
