"Could pass blind for a young Panama," as one taster put it — and that's the whole story here. Caramel, vanilla, chocolate and toffee up front, a soft vegetal edge underneath, and a short finish. Very mild for 55%, easy to sip, but most people call it pleasant rather than exciting. A few pick up a broad bitterness that keeps it from being a clean easy-sipper.

First time for me to try a rum from Thailand. I love it even though it is a rum of mystery. Nice sweet notes of honey and sweet spices.

It's not a real hit, but once again something nice and unusual. Nice for sipping in between, but unfortunately nothing more. Reasonable price though. In comparison, I like the FRC Thailand better. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to try it as a blender yet.

Good column still rum. Nice round nose and also tasty. A little rough and edgy in the mouth. EDIT: Once again compared with the FRC ... I have to correct this down again.

Day trip Dortmund August 2025. Balke pub. This time the rather unknown S.B.S Thailand. Vanilla and caramel on the nose. Then chocolate and toffee on the palate. Really better than expected.

Not bad at all, not to say: pleasant surprise. As Andi wrote here, the rum has a very present Panamá impression, you think you have a Spanish-style rum in front of you. If you like the style, you can make a relaxing evening with this Easy Sipper. Why not a kind of "style imitation" at a very good PLV and successfully integrated alcohol?I assume that Thai aged rum is on the rise and we can still expect a lot from the country.

Significantly better than the SBS Thailand with Moscatel wine cask finish. Could pass blind as a rather young Belize or Antigua rum. It has a very Spanish feel with lots of caramel, coconut, chocolate and some herbs. However, I find the FRC Thailand much better overall!

#4018 Looking at the price tag you get what you pay for i think. Fresh and fruity rum the comes off light because the ABV integration is really good. A nice first of its kind from 1423.

Thailand - another new country to tick off. Produces rum, you can drink it, check. At first I would have clearly placed this rum in the Caribbean. Spanish style, vanilla and caramel, what some described in reviews as "Panama character." On the palate and after some time also on the nose other aromas, above all a vegetal note, some fruit, possibly some cherry, like you know from fruit brandies. What bothers me a bit is the broad bitterness the rum delivers on the palate. For me it is very dominant and unfortunately prevents seeing the rum as an easy sipper. All in all still not bad, let's hope more will find their way into Thai cellars and eventually into our glasses!

My first Thai rum. Unfortunately very thin, one-dimensional and I found the aftertaste rather unpleasant. Positively to mention is that with its 55% vol. it is very mild.

Both in the smell and on the palate I immediately thought Panama, it has for me those typical chocolate, toffee, caramel and vanilla notes. Very mild but not particularly exciting. Couldn't have distinguished it from Panama. The finish was very short.

I expected way more from this. Not a sweet Panama ripoff. I know they can make interesting rum but this is not imo interesting. Commercially, because most people have a sweet tooth and like uncomplex flavours, perhaps. Not for me. Thailand next time please bring the funk!

I thought - 60 bucks for something that sounds really interesting, even though I haven't had anything from Thailand yet that really blew me away - but they told me this one has a lot, from a Panama rum and I like Panama and I think that really applies here too. The nose is exciting, first you get a lot of caramel and then something between burnt sugar and burnt rubber comes through. On the palate it’s also beautiful, with vanilla, tobacco and a bit of fruitiness added. The finish is rather short. When I drink alcohol neat, I prefer something exciting, complex, that I can spend ages with, but I still sip this one gladly. It’s tasty, especially for the price.
