A rum bottled in the 1940s by the brand Cointreau. Thanks Artur for the sample. A nose that somewhat recalls Jamaica with controlled esters and an overripe banana side. But on the other hand not at all Jamaican with vegetal, dry herbs and yellow fruits. And even a molasses side with Guyanese sweetness. A rum from Reunion Island? The palate is a bit diluted, watery, but the aromas rise and eventually fill the mouth cavity. Young wood, sweetness, fruits. I don't sense the overripe banana and the agricole side is clear. Bitter coffee prolongs the pleasure. An excellent rum, even if the entry on the palate is its weak point.
