You can taste that it’s still pretty young, but value for money it’s a hard to beat HD blend (especially at todays prices). Esters and glue, I like it. Keeps lingering for quite some time. A bit of time makes it sweeter and smoother. The shit is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S 🍌

Sehr leckerer Hampden mit tollem PLV. Fruchtig und überraschend süß. Das Alter merkt man ihm etwas an, bin daher sehr gespannt auf die ältere Version.

Reichliche Fruchtester, dennoch nicht zu abstringend und gut bekömmlich. Nach der ersten Ester Explosion zeigen sich aber noch andere Noten von Gewürzen, ich schmecke dezent Zimt und Nelke. Das hätte ich nicht erwartet von einem 1,5 jährigen Rum, ebensowenig die fantastische Integration des Alkohols. Ich bin sehr froh zwei Flaschen von diesem Preis-Leistungs Banger auf Lager zu haben 😅

J'ai trouvé ce blend super bon. J'avais été séduit par le démarrage de la gamme. J'ai particulièrement aimé celui-ci. Aucun doute sur l'origine du rhum. Fruits tes mûrs. Funky à souhaits. Vraiment sympa.

Leckerer junger Hampden. In der Nase Ananas, Mango, Banane etwas Holz ...Buttersäure und Klebstoff ,Alkohol kaum spürbar. Am Gaumen füllt es den Mund wunderbar aus mmh Frucht Ester Bombe Platzt förmlich im Mund hier auch sofort Banane, Ananas, Mango und reichlich Uhu 😅... ich schmecke allerdings gerade im Abgang auch eine Bitterkeit und Holz was mich an Virgin Oak erinnert (zum Glück nur leicht) PLV muss erwähnt werden Absolut Top !!!!

Wenn dieser Hampden nach 18 Monaten schon so intensiv und klassisch schmeckt, bin ich mega auf eine länger lagernde Abfüllung gespannt! Diese Abfüllung ist schon mal erstklassig, in der Nase die volle Ladung Ester und Frucht, am Gaumen erst Frucht, dann Holz und Gewürz und im Abgang sehr herzhaft mit einem Hauch von zu lange gezogenem Schwarztee! Der ist schon ziemlich funky Heute das 2.te mal im Glas und meine Begeisterung ist geblieben! Ich hoffe wirklich sehnlichst, das davon eine längere Lagerung folgt

Spannende Abfüllung und auch spannendes Projekt, da es wohl noch eine weitere und dann ältere Abfüllung geben wird. Es handelt sich um einen Blend aus LROK / HGML / DOK der 21 Monate im Fass war. Hintenraus kommt durchaus jetzt schon das Holz und eine leichte Bitterkeit. Der Preis ist wirklich für die heutige Zeit nahezu sensationell (knapp 50€ für 0,7 Liter)

Spannende Nase, langweiliger Gaumen! Ganz klar ein Hampden mit den Standard-Noten, die man nach dem ersten Genuss wohl direkt nachts im Schlsf rezitieren kann. Durch den Blend der drei Marks recht rund und kräftig, wobei mir die buttrige Cremigkeit des HGML zu dominieren scheint, was mir persönlich gefällt. Am Gaumen dann kurz eine volle Ladung Ester, ein wenig Cremigkeit mit dem Geschmack von Brioche und dann war’s das auch schon. Aufgrund des jungen Alters wenig tiefe, durch den Blend aber auch keine absolute High-Ester-Bombe. Der HGML kämpft, etwas Geschmack zu liefern, ist aber nicht so präsent wie in der Nase. In Summe dann eher durchschnittlich, da das Work in Progress ist, besteht eventuell noch Hoffnung.

Work in Progress trägt der Rum im Namen und das was in der Flasche steckt entspricht dem auch. Man darf gespannt sein wie der Rum sich weiter entwickelt dann lohnt sich sicher auch ein Quervergleich. Es gibt viel Luft nach oben. Hier haben wir einfach einen jungen Hampden. Viel Ester viel tropische Frucht. Intensiv, aber Etwas zu Sauer im Geschmack.

Starts off unbridled and sharp on the nose with lots of acidic influences, primarily sour pineapple juice, vinegar, juniper berries and a hint of red currants. The cask influence is purposely kept very low, leaving the barrel notes dialed down. Glue gun makes a cameo, but not enough to make this super funky. Smelling again during tasting reveals more of the DOK profile shining through and drastically increases complexity with notes of BBQ-sauce, honey-glaze, cloves and ash. In the mouth more round than expected. Top notes of sour pineapple juice, unripe banana and then immediately interrupted with sweet marmalade and raw honey. It’s less roasted than on the nose, but the campfire is still simmering. The base is heavily influenced by chamomile tea and ginger. The finish is short and dry with more pineapple juice and spicy ginger. Admittedly the spicy tingle lasts for quite a bit. Considering the LROK/HGML/DOK blend, I expected more red fruit and medicinal notes. In reality we ended up in -my best guess- HLCF range. It’s good, and the price/quality is high at release, but it’s too raw to need a bottle off.
