Funk nerds and agricole fans are the real audience here. This unaged Ecuadorian cane-juice rum smells of glue, nail polish and overripe, almost composty fruit, then hits citrus, grass and raspberry with a sharp, spirity edge. One taster calls it "a funky Clairin-like rum but a bit tamer." At 57% it bites, and many find it works best in a daiquiri or ti-punch.

Very fruity and intense rum. I taste raspberry and lots of fruit. Tastes a bit like grappa, if it stays longer in the mouth it gets a bit harsh and the tip of the tongue feels a bit fuzzy. I like it quite well. I'll save the last cl for a small cocktail.

Very strange white rum. On the nose, pure glue & nail polish with overripe fruit. The taste is then quite alcoholic, salty, bitter and grassy at the same time. Reminds me of a slightly tangy grappa, with artichokes in brine. All in all, simply far too alcoholic and not my cup of tea in terms of aroma. Unfortunately, it doesn't convince me at all in a daiquiri. Too bad.

For me, a very strong Agricole smell on the nose. Very intense. It also seems overripe and has a sticky note. Citrus fruits then appear on the palate. It also seems quite overripe here.

#4017 This one is sharper and more kind of edgy and made for mixers in my mind. Even resting for a good while it will bite a little.

Nose quickly associated with funk, glue & freshly mown grass. On the palate quite edgy & alcoholic though, doesn't convince there. But in the subsequent Daiquiri it fit perfectly, so absolutely usable as a mixer.

Tasted at the RhumFest Paris 2025. Quite surprised by this rum which I expected to be sweet and honeyed but which turns out esterified and very vegetal. A very present cane. It’s rather well done.

Overripe to almost composty, very intense, grassy and almost arracky-bacony. Quite a little overcoming and challenge. Creamy, overripe, almost foul on the palate. A bit of chocolate, lots of overripe fruit, citrus, medium intensity. This is something for the funk nerds, still a bit special for me. Nevertheless, good!
