Hello compost. The thing is already really an announcement from more than overripe. In particular, an almost rotten meat note stands out. It's not bad, but I would call it 'challenging'. Flavor then tamer, creamy and clearly fruity tame sweetness. Pleases me so massively better than on the nose. Banana, pineapple and stone fruit do stand out here. Nice funky as soon as lime and sweetness come on.

Quite artificially sweet and metallic. The alcohol could be better integrated and I don't like this salty note which is very penetrating together with the metallic and very sweet notes. Rather unbalanced for me.

Brings typical Jamaican funk with lots of banana, overripe pineapple, and distinct esters. There are also grassy and slightly metallic notes. At 57%, it feels quite rough and alcoholic when neat. Full of character, but not particularly well-balanced, it shows its strengths more in cocktails.

#4016 This is a very nice unaged rum and I'd prefer it in a mixer or maybe on the rocks. Can be enjoyed pure as well and the longer it is rested the more flavours appear.

I had it neat in the glass and I find it quite an acquired taste. But it could well be that it sells quite well in cocktails. I will definitely give it a second chance.

This one is very metallic, which then goes into fermented fruit notes / pineapple, coconut.To enjoy pure, I find the now not so great, however, I have already had the in the daiquiri and there he makes himself super !And to mix this rum series is also meant.

It's a very young wild rum. But hey :) I believe this rum is meant for mixing uses ie cocktails. I decided to mix this rum my usual way ( when i do mix ) normally with grapefruit. It was delicious. All I can think of is banana sweets whilst drinking the WPH🍸 🍌

Crazy work done, some bananas, overripe mango, some completely overripe exotic fruit, on the palate first sweetness, creaminess, slight tingling, in the aftertaste totally bananas, quite a bit of alcohol but manageable, pity about the price, probably too expensive for mixes. After airing, more alcohol in the nose.

Read full review ›In the smell, I find the typical aroma of the distillery: tropical fruits like banana and some pineapple, esters, fresh green grass aromas and light floral notes. The alcohol is relatively present. On the taste also grassy and fresh, some funk and of course also slightly overripe fruits. Additionally, metallic aromas and unfortunately again noticeable alcohol. The rum also has a slight astringency. I also miss a bit the oily texture of the RumBar Overproof from the same house, which seems to me the better deal here.

Fist time tasting the WP Heavy marque. Bright and bold I would expect nothing less. Tasting notes: banana, gasoline, fresh cut grass, overripe pineapple. this is certainly something now I’ll be enjoying by itself. That said, I wouldn’t mind creating an equal parts cocktail with Montenegro Amaro and this.
