Feller Rumreich PX Sherry Cask
If you like clean, restrained German rum and don't need a big PX punch, this one's worth a look. The sherry is there — dried apricot, a little cherry, vanilla and caramel — but it stays gentle, and the oak does a lot of the talking. At 46.2% it drinks well, though several tasters call it a touch thin and short on depth. Pleasant, not profound.

So this one is a success! Of the five Feller samples tasted on this vacation, this is probably the rum that appeals to me the most. And that despite the sherry finish! Inviting on the nose, spicy on the palate, I would say more brandy than sherry. I don't "need" a bottle of this, but I liked it and will remember it fondly.

Na ja, irgendwie kann ich mit den Sherry Casks nicht so viel anfangen, ist trotzdem ganz ok. Natürlich reichlich Sherry in der Nase und am Gaumen, ansonsten haben wir noch etwas Holz, sowie Vanille und Karamell. Mit der Zeit wird er auch noch leicht schokoladig.

Ein gut ausgewogenes Destillat aber ohne wirkliche Tiefe, sicherlich sehr sauber aber es fehlt an Komplexität. Das Px-Sherry cask ist nur dezent, im vergleich zu seinen vielen beüdern und schwestern auf dem markt.

Gekauft beim Rum festival in Berlin Ich hatte schon den Cognac cask von RumReich und der hat meiner freundin sehr gut geschmackt ich fand ihn ok . Bei diesem Rum allerdings waren wir uns einig er schaft es nicht an den Congac herran. Der alkohol ist spürbar, der Holz geschmack überdeckt sogut wie alles vom Sherry. schade aber die Flasche ist sehr schön.

Feller lohnt sich immer zu probieren. Da ich aber so gar nicht auf PX stehe, erwarte ich nicht viel, auch wegen der anderen specs nicht. Nase: süßlich zitrusfruchtig mit Zitrone und Orange und künstlichem Zitronat, danach erst das PX mit der typischen getrockneten Aprikose. Vielleicht kommen noch schwarze Johannisbeere und Stachelbeere dazu. Noch etwas Vanille, die hinten stärker wird. Mehr aber auch nicht und zu künstlich. 7,0 Gaumen: wirkt leicht und etwas dünn, zunächst leicht bitter, gefolgt von Zitronenschale, süßer werdend Richtung Zuckerwasser mit Vanille, jetzt kommt leicht Kirsche hinzu. PX und getrocknete Aprikose würde ich erst dann erkennen wollen. Insgesamt leider zu dünn und zu flach. Das PX macht ihn lediglich süßlicher. Im Abgang schmecke ich ein wenig Pilze… 6,8
