A real success. The woodiness is present but controlled. Pleasant freshness and gourmandise. Vanilla from the cane. Lovely fruit, full of acidity. Good length on the palate. Strong acidity on the finish (red fruit?). Really tasty! Initially tasted at RhumFest, so not the best conditions. Not enough notes taken either. So I'll have to taste it again. But I really appreciated its finesse. Not an all-woody agricole. A very pleasant sweetness. And alcohol present but discreet.

A nice Swell release without being exceptional. Alcohol moderately integrated, nice bottle anyway but probably among Mika's less successful selections. Bielle too vegetal for me, lacks roundness.

I simply have to give this rhum an above-average rating. For me, it's an all-round success. I particularly like this fresh, grassy sweetness, which makes it a prime example of an agricole. It reminds me a little of a La Dame Jeanne - that's a good thing.

Quite tasty but overall also very "well-behaved" and restrained. I had hoped for a little more complexity. I know more exciting young bielles that have more power in terms of aroma.

#4058 This is a very well balanced rum and it has a very fresh Agricole profile. I love the nice floral notes because they mingle very well with the fruit notes and vanilla. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass is nice and fresh with some added dried fruit and what I'd call wet hay ☺️

In contrast to the previously tasted Bielle from Rasta Morris (RX2979), this one is far weaker. The typical smells and taste are typical of Bielle, but not nearly as balanced as the RX2979. Still not bad.

A nice Bielle with a profile both classic but very well mastered. The nose shows strong floral and vegetal aromas. The fruits are very discreet, while the wood, spices and toasted notes make the profile more harmonious and varied. It is both solid and typical of the distillery. On the palate, a dry but very balanced rum. The vegetal and floral notes of the sugar cane are balanced by iodized, salty flavors, light woodiness and a gourmandise brought both by spices and dried fruits. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is of a correct length. You can discern some astringency and toasted notes. Wood, spices, earthier notes and sugar cane are also present. A rum without excess, but very well made in its style. The quality/price ratio is really worth it.

A rather young rum with a nose of pear, butter, and orange. The palate is very fresh with very discreet alcohol and still a pear side. The finish is average on herbs and pome fruits. The empty glass reveals a rather discreet woody and smoky side previously unnoticed.

For this occasion 😉, I have planned a few tastings with Agricole from Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Marie Galante. Today it's Bielle's turn. Fruity, floral, and light, less complex. By a hair's breadth, the weakest of the four Bielle rums tasted today. Nevertheless, a delicious drop.

I didn’t take any notes at the Rhum Fest so a more detailed review will follow as soon as I get the chance to sample this rum again in a better context. I also tried the Bielle unaged which was very good. No clue when it will be released. The unaged Mexican was pretty good as well, pretty strong stuff. It will be released at the end of the year.

That’s a great Bielle. Not overly complex but pretty smooth and balanced really nice. Without looking at the price tag this could have been a nice companion as a daily sipper. No need search, interpret, and spend a lot of time. It is all there, just straight up and I really enjoyed it.

On the nose initially aggressively sour, a note that takes more than 30 minutes to really settle and redevelop into something more approachable. We start with fresh sugarcane, berrymix and a hefty citrus blend. It’s very hard to pinpoint any of the fruits, but red apple is definitely among them. Then we get a substructure of barrel notes layered with a furniture polish base. The essence is captured by a flowery and herbal heart; meadows and most noticeably thyme. On the palate the same fruits reappear, with the addition of blue grapes. Again lots of citrus, but less sour than expected. The experience is slightly tannic and swept with seawind. The meadows turn parched, but a flowery heart still persists. The finish is unexpectedly very sweet with caramel notes, slightly tannic with dried fruits and raisins. All-in-all a lovely experience, but a bottling that is overpriced.

Premir Swell and clearly not disappointed! An ultra balanced and indulgent Bielle, but still powerful. A mix of spices, herbs, fruits that I really liked. In summary, my tasting notes: Nose: Agricole, apple, herbaceous, woody, vegetal, fruity. Palate: Fresh, apple, citrus, agricole, vanilla, vegetal, salty, spicy, herbaceous, floral, sugar cane. Finish rather oriented towards: vanilla, spicy, peppery, dried fruits, herbaceous.

Doesn't really resemble other Bielle, very round, chocolaty, but lacks grip and character, not really what I look for in Bielle.

Nose: the Bielle side is less pronounced than usual but the framework remains present with orange zest and butter. There is also floral and smoky. The alcohol seemed too strong at first but then it faded. Afterwards the nose develops with roasted chocolate/cocoa notes appearing and still the orange which is well present. Palate: the Bielle markers are there with bitterness (maybe following a smoke we had on the nose). You feel it’s Bielle but different, lighter/fresher with slight herbal and floral notes. It’s not very strong in aromatic intensity, it’s a bit flat and linear, not very complex. It’s less gourmand/round than the classic Bielle we expect but it’s different and livelier (and that’s not necessarily negative just an observation). Average finish, with the smoky side taking a bit more over than on the rest of the Bielle markers.
