#6839 24.05.2026 Running a few evening samples while listening to some Psy Trance on Spotify. The rum is pretty OK but the price tag is a bit hefty in my mind. An intense yet well balanced rum with fruits, wood, spice, caramel, nutts and some tobacco.

A little play on words with the distillery, but here we have the big fish of the collection. Behind a "pretty decanter" that contrasts with the rest of the range hides a raw rum aged for at least 15 years, which is not negligible. The nose is quite complex and interesting with a lot of interplay between candied fruits (citrus) and dried fruits (raisins), caramel, baked apple, chili, vanilla, and extremely fine wood. You can tell the profile is very worked on and refined over the long term, and that's one of the distillery's strengths. The profile is refined and full-bodied on the palate, which is a nice surprise. The flavors are quite universal: candied lime, dried fruits, mild spices (chili, vanilla), toasted wood, sugar cane, and herbal notes share the palate without really establishing a hierarchy; it's balanced and controlled. The alcohol is superbly well integrated, there's not much to complain about. The finish continues the profile, quite light, complex, and fully controlled. It warms the palate with its peppery, toasted, and woody notes that dry out the profile, while the lemon zest, sugar cane, and caramel give it opulence and indulgence. The spices and vegetal notes add the final touch of a high-caliber rum. To conclude this tasting, it is undoubtedly a very beautiful product from the French Antilles and the result of passionate work, but it is absolutely impossible for this product to be competitive on the market with a price as stratospheric as it is unreasonable. The experience is worth having, but sadly not the bottle.

The flagship of the collection. The nose is EXCEPTIONAL. I've never smelled anything so good. Slight regret on the length which I find, disappears quite quickly. But what an experience!!! It's great art.
