Balcones Texas Rum
Best sipped neat with a drop of water to tame the heat — at 59.6% cask strength this Texas pot-still leans hard into whisky territory. Expect toasted oak, vanilla, caramel and a rye-like wood spice, with a light smoky, minty edge and hints of chocolate and nuts. A few tasters catch fruit and faint glue; several call the alcohol a touch rough on the palate.

How does Balcones Texas Rum taste?
Aggregated from 29 community reviews.
Whisky-like Texas rum, oaky and hot Most enjoy this whisky-like Texan for its oak-driven caramel and vanilla. The common gripe: the ABV can bite, and water helps. Reads more American-whiskey than classic rum.

USA, země whisky zaslíbená, umí i rum. Melasa, pot still, dubové sudy, sudová síla a žádné příchutě navíc.

Alles in allem echt gut.

#4255 16.09.2023 Whisky N Rum Show 2023. A rather whisky like rum. Not bad and the price tag is pretty OK. Fruity with a smoky note and light mint. ABV could have been better integrated. There was a light coffee note in the empty glass.
