Dieser Rum ist ganz gut. Ich finde nur er schmeckt etwas zu sehr alkoholisch. Liegt vielleicht daran, dass er von 2020 ist, bin da aber jetzt nicht so der Experte ;-) Aber für den relativ günstigen Preis völlig in Ordnung.

Einerseits ist die Nase hier deutlich intensiver und ester-lastiger. Andererseits kommen hier deutlich mehr rote beeren Früchte, mehr süße und mehr Gebäck Noten hinzu. Deutlich intensiver und ausgewogener wie der Sherry cask dok und das insgesamt beste Mundgefühl.

Now the DOK with port tire... Nose: a little closer to a usual DOK than the PX. Intense esters again with pineapple. Subtle almond flavors and honey come through before the glue takes over. Overall a bit brighter than the relatively dull PX. 8.1. Palate: nice and intense esters, lots of grilled and thus candied pineapple with honey. Seems a bit bacon-creamy out back. I only detect the Port influence in the slightly increased sweetness. Fits great and tastes good. 8.3 Compared to a Virgin Oak DOK, a bit finer and sweeter but not at all over the top. Ok, were also only 2 years in the barrel.

This one is exciting, it got a real clove mulled wine note from the port wine barrel. The finish is quite short and it is also the brightest of the set - despite port wine barrel

Online tasting with Joshua Singh: Sweet tones of honey, tropical fruits and vanila both in the taste and nose. The 👅 is typical hampden however a bit milder, sweeter and smoother with honey flavours subtly present. Probably my least favorite from the set.

A nice profile in itself, the port sweetness harmonizes nicely with the fruit esters, the heavy sweetness doesn't overpower either - however, the alcohol is noticeably pushing forward here. Unfortunately, it's far too dominant for me, which is why I'm a little more cautious with the points - but High Ester and ex-port cask undoubtedly have potential.
