Sehr schöner Hampden. Mir kommt in derNase gleich Ester und auch Zucker entgegen. Ich liebe diesen Geruch ja sehr. Im Gaumen ist er dann zusätzlich noch sehr intensiv und leicht alkoholisch. Alkohol gut eingebunden. Lecker.

DOK is really cool... and beautiful... and if a rum can stand any other kind of barrel maturation, then it's DOK. That's why I'm going to keep an open mind... Nose: Ester without end. No question about it. Plus the typical pineapple and banana as well as lemon. Marzipan sweetness is not missing either. The PX lends a pleasant smoky note and transforms the otherwise fine glue and something thicker, towards nail polish. What can I say, it harmonizes. 8,1 Palate: intense esters!!! Initially astringent then grilled pineapple, closely followed by intense sweetness, like from sugar syrup or candied something. Very clearly due to the PX. A little too much sweetness and PX for me. 7,7

Ich muss sagen bin positiv überrascht von dem kleinen Kameraden, schöne fruchtige Esternoten mit tollen funk. Leichte Marzipan Honig noten. Das PX rundet den Dok schön ab, also absolut nicht störend. Alkohl ist auch gut eingebunden

Interessante Melange, die süss-saure Aromatik aus tropischen Fruchtestern und süssem Sherry kann aber deutlich besser funktionieren, wie beispielsweise die Pagos-Releases zeigen. Zeigt sehr deutliche Alkoholaromen. Wirkt auf mich zu jung und unausgewogen.

Das hier ist der aus der 1423 2020 DOK-Reihe, von dem ich mir am Meisten erwartet habe, weil ich Peter Siemens Fässer mag und der, der mich am Meisten enttäuscht hab. Klar, so das typische geile DOK Profil - vergorene Ananas, Kekse, noch mehr Ester, etwas Holz in der Nase. Am Gaumen dann hauptsächlich die DOK-Ester, und schon einen ganz kleinen Anklang von Sherryfass - man muss da aber wirklich genau hinschmecken. und der Abgang ist dann relativ unspäktakulär. Ein paar Jahre mehr hätten den wohl spannender gemacht - oder vieleicht sogar ein Bad in einem Nico Kröger Sherryfass - man muss ja grade bei Sherryfässern vorsichtig sein, wie viel die bringen, nachdem ja mittlerweile in Spanien für die Whiskyindustrie massenhaft Sherryfässer hergestellt werden, mit Zeug, das dann teilweise weggekippt wird, anstatt dass die Spirituose in irgendwas lagert, was wirklich mal lecker und schön war.

Online Tasting with Joshua Singh: This is my second most favorite of the set. A bit similar to Virgin Oak but affected by PX casks so a bit more sweet, also it is very full on body, typical hampden taste & aroma with one addition: Marmalade.
