4 Chairmans in direct comparison: 1st Chairmans 1802 Very fruity, vanilla, increasingly more spice, balanced, sweeter and sweeter on the palate over time. Lots of bourbon influence. 8.5 pts. 2nd Chairmans Rum&Co Comparatively more fruit, especially cherry. Vanilla and sweet finish. 8.7 pts. 3rd Chairmans 2008, Rhumattitude Completely different, lots of bourbon influence and even more coconut! Resembles a Foursquare or Belize rum. 81 pts. 4th Chairmans Excellencerhum See astringent, lots of herbs, wood, fruit in the finish. 87 pts.

The motto of the Community Tasting in Nuremberg was the big cross-testing of the Chairman's bottlings. First of all, I liked them all. Until then, I only knew the Kirsch and Perola bottlings. I was surprised that the flavor profiles were so different and that none of them were really bad, but none of them really stood out from the others either. But when you see what you get for your money at Chairman's, I have to say it's really great. I will probably expand my collection in this area without a guilty conscience.

That I would ever prefer a pure Vendome to a John Dore or because of me a mix of Vendome & John Dore, I would not have thought possible. But with this rum it is so. What a flavor monster! What a powerful finish that goes on for ages! And all for little more than a hundred bucks. Phew, I guess I'll have to rethink my rating of the Chairman's I've tasted so far. And have to get me a bottle of this rum. That is as certain as the Amen in the church.

Relaxing a bit at home while my wife is out with a friend. Nose Intense, woody, roasted, medicinal, plum, light cherry, light mint. Palate Intense, woody, roasted, dried fruit, earthy, medicinal, tannins, light mint. Finish Long and warm, woody, roasted, light cherry, mint, faint chocolate. Draws really nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass has light caramel and a hint of iodine.

Herrlich intensiver und auf den Punkt gereifter Rum. Holz (gutes), etwas Gummi und medizinisch mentholiges mit gebranntem Zucker, Leder, Gewürzen und einer eleganten Bitterkeit. Frucht eher wenig.

Sample geleert.😋 Beginnt leicht holzig in der Nase wird aber schnell zugänglich und bringt eine intensive Kirsche am Gaumen. Da hätte ich vielleicht zu einer Flasche greifen sollen. Toller Kurs zum Release 🫣 ____________ Wirklich toller st. Lucia Rum wunderbar aromatisch zu fairem Preis. Da ist Rumundco ein guter Fisch ins Netz gegangen und ich bin auf den Vergleich mit anderen SC aus st.lucia gespannt

Wahnsinnig spannender alter Chairmans aus der Vendome Still. Getrocknete Mango und Guave, sowie Klebstoff und Menthol treffen auf Backgewürz, Akazienhonig und geröstete Nüsse mit leicht erdigen und pflanzlichen Noten und dezenten Tanninen. Wirklich runde Sache und super komplex, ausgewogen und lecker!

Außerordentliche Nase, an der man lange verweilen möchte. Sehr komplex und gleichzeitig ausgewogen, wobei hier etwas Ester trotz der langen Lagerung noch mitschwingen! Im Mund stark bitter, dunkelherb, Anklänge von "Dreck", Menthol, was etwas zu unrund wirkt auf mich. Leider überzeugt mich der Rum deshalb nicht vollends, um ihm eine 9/10 Bewertung zu geben. Bin auf eine weitere Verkostung gespannt und hohe Komplexität ist da, aber immer noch etwas unrund im Mund.

Sehr sehr schöner Chairman’s zu einem fairen Preis. Der Rum hat eine schöne Kräuternote, die für mich aber bei Saint Lucia eher ungewohnt ist. Die Minz-Menthol Note wird aber super von angenehmen Pflaumen und Kirschnoten eingefangen.

Chairman’s Tasting mit 3x Vendome (Evanius Harris, RMW, Rum&Co), 1x Vendome & John Dore Blend (Nectar) und 2x John Dore (Kirsch, Rum Exchange). Die Vendome-Abfüllungen etwas dreckiger und medizinischer, die John Dore fruchtiger. Von den Vendome war für mich der Evanius Harris am stimmigsten. Bei den John Dore hätte der Rum Exchange gewonnen, wenn er nicht so holzig wäre (bester in der Nase), so schmeckte mir der Kirsch besser. Insgesamt die Nr. 1 war aber der Necktar, der von beiden Stils das Beste vereinte, mild, lecker und auf den Punkt gereift war. Hier war der Alkohol zu dominant im Vergleich mit Evanius Harris.

today the R&C bottling from the Vendome pot still competes against the cherry, which comes from the John Dore 2. The first thing that stands out is that the R&C is significantly darker. This is probably due to the longer storage (18 yrs vs 13 yrs). On the nose, the two are also very different: the R&C with polish, floral notes, caramel and a slight medicinal tinge, while the Kirsch is more on the garage notes and (sour-fermented) red fruits (reminiscent of Grand Aromes). On the palate, both play pretty much on the charred wood-dirty tar keyboard. The differences here are minor. The bottom line is that I like the cherry profile a bit more.

The third Chairman's in today's tasting. It is by far not as fruity as the others, but really good! More on the woody spicy side. In the finish, some fruit does appear. A cherry note spreads long and pleasant

I have no recollection of purchasing this sample. If someone included this in a package for me: thank you 😊 This is only my second Chairman’s Reserve, the first one wasn’t bad but this one is on another level. The nose is extremely nice, woody, roasted, some spices and tobacco. The mouth has more of the same with some medicinal notes. I will definitely seek out more Chairman’s in the future.

8,6:On the nose, roasted wood notes like burnt sugar, pastry and roasted nuts, buttery, esters and glue, dried fruits, some vanilla, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, tropical fruits like banana, are out, slight smokiness and menthol. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is intense, but tasty with spicy roasted wood, menthol and esters, delicious tropical fruits like guava, banana, dried fruits and cherries, creamy with butterscotch, slightly salty.The molasses brings tobacco and sap. 8,6:The finish is long, tannic, barrel impact is strong, ss we find toasted coconut, roasted wood notes like leather, slight smokiness, baking spices.There is some menthol, bananas and cherries.

First RumX meeting. Un nez boisé et sombre de type guyanais avec du vieux bois verni, des fruits secs, beaucoup de fruits secs et un côté fermenté doux. Une bouche sombre, boisée, très boisée, du vieux bois verni. Mais les fruits secs ne sont pas loin, avec un côté végétal fermenté qu’on retrouve souvent dans les rhums de Sainte Lucie. Une finale plutôt longue, très boisée avec un côté pâtissier que je n’avais pas senti avant.

Ein dritter Chairman's geht noch ;-) Auch ein echt klasse Rum, sehr holzig und röstig in der Nase, außerdem haben wir etwas gebrannten Zucker und Tabak. Am Gaumen haben wir auch viel Holz, außerdem recht würzig und röstig, sowie etwas Kirsche.

Eine unglaublich intensive Nase erwartet einen. Mit Einflüssen von Klebstoff, Gebäck und Menthol. Im Mund kommt dann noch Kirsche und viel Holz dazu. Er ist insgesamt extrem lang im Abgang mit etwas Honig. Insgesamt ein toller St. Lucia. Ein sehr komplexer Rum, der Spaß macht.

Sehr schöne Abfüllung mit hohem Reifegrad. Für Fans lange gereifter, dunkler Rums zum Ausgabepreis ein absoluter No-Brainer, mit persönlich fehlt ein wenig das Gegengewicht von Fruchtaromen o.Ä. Trotzdem natürlich ein Rum auf sehr hohem Niveau, der Intensität und Komplexität vereint. Edit: Muss hier nach der zweiten Flasche nochmal nach oben korrigieren: Was für ein toller ausgewogener, komplexer Rum. Hat sich zwischenzeitlich fast zu meinem „Hausrum“ entwickelt, da er Komplexität und entspannte Trinkbarkeit wunderbar vereint. Mir ein völliges Rätsel, weshalb bei diesem PLV-Monster noch Flaschen auf dem Erstmarkt verfügbar sind, ich bin einfach dankbar und kaufe regelmäßig nach.

Un rhum à la robe extrêmement sombre qui en dit long sur le vieillissement de 18 ans qu’il a subit. Le nez est ample, concentré sur les notes sombres de chocolat noir, de noisettes grillées, de sucre brûlé, de tabac, de bois rôti et d’épices. Les fruits secs (raisin), la cerise et les baies noires accentuent le côté dark mais le rendent très élégant et rond aux narines. Une touche médicinale et esterisée vient complexifier l’ensemble. Un profil riche et intense mais subtil malgré l’âge. Le profil en bouche est très intéressant. Le boisé rôti, le tabac et les épices (piment, poivre, vanille) apportent du caractère. La cerise et les raisins secs apportent une touche fruitée agréable, mais c’est le sucre brûlé, le chocolat et les noix (noisette et coco) qui adoucissent le profil. La texture huileuse, presque sirupeuse est très agréable en bouche. L’arrière-bouche est plus sèche et tannique avec les notes médicinales en arrière-plan. L’alcool est présent mais demeure bien intégré sur ce profil vieux mais encore vigoureux. La finale est très longue et sèche, restant sur l’amertume, le cuir, le tabac, le boisé sombre et les épices. On retrouve les fruits secs, la cerise, le sucre brûlé et le chocolat noir dans cet amas lourd et puissant qui tapisse le palais. Un profil complexe, intense et particulièrement dark pour la maison, loin d’être un jus de bois mais qui s’avère plus costaud que d’autres cuvées au profil plus « coloré ».

From the very first moment in the glass, this Chairman's Reserve radiates a sublime maturity, which gains more and more complexity with prolonged exposure to air. Thanks to the 18 years of aging, the complex rum has noticeably settled down, even though the oak initially really asserts itself on the palate. Once again, a very nice Saint Lucia!

Heute mal wieder seit längerer Zeit ein Chairman im Glas und ich muss sagen, dass mir dieser äußerst gut gefällt. Sowohl in der Nase als auch auf dem Gaumen intensive rostigen Noten. Ist in der Nase noch der Ester präsent, kommen auf dem Gauemn deutlich die Kirschnoten hervor. Der Alkohol ist mMn sehr gut integriert. Richtig starker Rum aus St Lucia!

The best amongst my small homemade lineup. Tasty and lively, the nose is excellent between tropical fruits and leather, with a marshmallow side very intriguing that drinking is confirmed. Really a nice rum, even if in my memory the RumX selection was even better

I was at the beginning of ls not sure whether I should buy the, after meanwhile felt every lottery store ne own Master Selection brings out and rum and co there feels like you would buy nen Lafite Rothschild at Aldi.At 18 years Vendome I had to try but necessarily and I am enormously positively surprised.I find, in terms of complexity is the really close to the Grape of the Art bottling, but you notice that the sour flaoral Jhon Dore flavors are missing.For very much wood, vanilla, tobacco and leather and a beautifully long finish with spices something like cinnamon, clove, pepper.One takes the alcohol already clearly perceived, but I find him taste very coherent / round.Also the color is hammer - so right dark brown / red mahogany wood.All in all a really cool rum

Nose: ah, St. Lucia... freshly cut pine wood, resin, olive brine, salted caramel in the back, some esters showing up. pretty unique profile from a pretty unique island. Mouth: like chewing on the christmas tree... some tar, intense and compact. alcoholic sting very restrained in this one (imho the only weak point to most Chairman's). finish: stays with you. on that resiny-tary note. Lovely! At 110€ for 18 years excellent value for money.

Tolle Nase mit roten Früchten und Leder. Am Gaumen dann ziemlich fruchtig, eine schöne Amarena-Kirsche, die "dreckigen" Noten wie Leder und Werkstatt eher im Hintergrund. Alkohol toll eingebunden trotz der um die 60%. Wirklich ein ganz toller Tropfen, vor allem zu den unter 100€, zu denen ich die Flasche bekommen konnte. Preis/Genuss Kracher! Vielen Dank an Mariano56 für diese Empfehlung!
