Still very restrained and slightly pungent on the nose ... the palate is already much more intense. Super fruity and really easy to drink for the high ABV, which surprised me. It's already a delicious drop.

The nose is very fruity, intense citrus and yellow fruit, the palate loses something, initially a heavy honey sweetness that changes to a spicy and unfortunately somewhat alcoholic side, the finish is toasty, woody spicy.

A little liquid dynamite. The nose prepares like gunpowder with spices that make the nostrils tingle (chili, pepper, vanilla). You can detect notes of roasted nuts, caramel, brown sugar, and quite varied fruits, ranging from yellow fruits to citrus (lemon), passing through tropical fruits, apple, and dried fruits (apricot, raisin). There is a slight note of esters that refreshes the whole, but you feel the profile is just waiting to explode on the palate. The effect on the palate does not deceive: the explosion causes a small blast on the palate but with plenty of aromas coming in the second wave, notably fruits (lemon, pear, papaya, apple, dried fruits), roasted wood, esters as well as spices and honeyed and hot caramel notes. The fruitiness does not blend with the other flavors and takes over, but the alcohol heat is well present, which could be integrated just a little better. The finish is a bit short, leaving a duller memory of the juice's power in the mouth. You find spicy, roasted, woody, and caffeinated notes, but also fruits on lemon and pear and some sweet notes on brown sugar and honey. A rum that will give a kick under any circumstances but to be consumed sparingly.

Australia Artur’s Advent calendar day 12. On the nose quite caramelized with vanilla and cedar wood. Yellow fruits and especially pear, a quite surprising mix of roasted and vegetal freshness. On the palate the caramel/vanilla side is less present. Freshness, fruits, and funk dominate very pleasantly. The finish is quite long with beautiful aromas of fruits and pear that linger for a long time. The vegetal freshness reveals itself here as mint. A very nice rum that lacks a bit of depth.

Australia Artur Advent Calendar 2025 (12) This representative will also have its 60+ % abv. These are well integrated. Rather dark fruity and with a distinct woodiness. Warm and oily on the palate, somewhat nutty on the finish. 64 % 12 years Bourbon cask

Now the Rumclub Australia No. 35. Nose has nice notes of vanilla, caramel, brown sugar and young wood. On the palate then honey, vanilla, very roasted and also young wood. The not quite well integrated alcohol prevents a better rating.

Artur's Advent Calendar Australia: Once again, caramel, spices and wood dominate from nose to finish. Still a little nutty on the nose, then coconut and something fruity on the palate. The alcohol content must be quite high; nevertheless well integrated, but not a rum for beginners

#6118 24.12.2025 Enjoying a few rums after eating way too much food, but on the other hand it is only Christmas once a year. Nose Fresh, light wood, light marzipan, light floral, apple, light mango, light chocolate, light mint. Palate Medium intense, oily, light wood, faint smoke, light marzipan, apple, light citrus, light mango, spice, light mint. Finish Very long and warm, oily, light wood, light mint, light citrus, apricot. Empty glass Mint, vanilla, light marzipan, light chocolate, citrus, faint floral.

This rum combines hints of an ester rum with harmonious notes and a young aging. It can be quite nice, but at such ABV I expected more intensity. To not overwhelm the mouthfeel, a little water can be added. The roasted taste is very pleasant.

Australia Advent Calendar by Artur: Very restrained on the nose, fruity and a little sweet, with the first signs of the relatively high alcohol content. The latter comes to the fore even more clearly on the palate and in the finish; not in an overly aggressive form, however, but integrated into an overall somewhat clear aroma spectrum that lacks a little expressiveness for my taste. A good rum, but not at the top of the Australian spearhead.

To be honest, I was a little afraid of what to expect with this enormous alcohol content when I tasted the rum neat, but that was completely unnecessary. I would never have expected such a pleasant mouthfeel. Nothing burns, there is no recognizable numbing effect. Instead, I can literally feel how - given a little nip - the alcohol in my mouth diffuses through the mucous membrane into the blood and is replaced by saliva, releasing a huge load of bright fruit. Absolutely impressive and extremely tasty!

At first I wasn't the least bit interested in the Aussies, but gradually I'm finding my way to them and this is the best representative of this continent so far for me. Smooth fruity honeyed entry, perfectly integrated alcohol despite the high abv. Medium-bodied finish that left a very pleasant mouthfeel. Super.

Artur’s Aussie Advent, day 12: Way too alcoholic for my taste. Could be my Tagesform, but even after an hour it was still overpowering all other aspects of the rum. The rest of the sample went into a rum’n coke.

Can't quite keep up with the 2007 Beenleighs. But has a comparable profile. Lots of citrus fruits and green apple. Some wood and vanilla. However, here too the alcohol is rather poorly integrated. Needs time in the glass.

As Gunnar says - if you don't know what you have in the glass, you won't get to Australia. The rum is wonderfully fruity - or rather floral - with a nose of apple and marc/grape brandy/cognac. In the mouth, green apple really does dominate, so much so that I had to compare it with a Calvados at first, and blindly I would actually guess Calvados rather than rum. Unfortunately, the finish is a little short. I have to admit that I'm now a big fan of the rum club bottlings, as they always come up with unique edges and flavor nuances for me. And this bottling is once again exceptional. For 5 euros less than the Australian from last year/the year before last, there is a huge discrepancy in the PLV in my opinion. Of course, it is something completely different in terms of taste, but in my opinion it lacks depth for the price, which in turn may not suit its taste profile at all. At 14 years old, the No. 20 is way ahead in terms of intensity, complexity, depth and finish, and it must also serve as a reference for the evaluation here. Of course, I don't know what costs are behind such a rum and I also understand very well that as a retailer you want to, should and may earn money with it - for my taste, I only notice a huge difference in the plv to Rumclub No. 20 as a benchmark.

An intense flavor explosion. The smell of vanilla and yellow fruits is still quite mild. On the palate, the intensity comes through. Quite oily, thanks to the ABV. The finish is eternally long. Really good.

Mal wieder eine Last Minute Verkostung, bevor die Flasche leer.😉 Netter Australier, für mich ein wenig zu ungestüm, ein paar Jahre länger hätten ihm gut getan. An der Nase frisch,mit Zitrusfrüchten und Honig. Hätte auch ein junger Agricole sein können. Der Gaumen anfänglich süß nach Honig, dazu Zitrusfrüchte. Etwas alkoholisch und intensiv. Hinten raus röstig und holzig werdend. Zu Schluss Schwarztee mit Honig, dazu ein Espresso,alles schön im getoasteten Fass. Ein Rum der nicht jeden Tag geht, muss passen, aber man sieht ja, fast leer.😉

I am pleasantly surprised by the beautiful fruitiness of this rather young Australian. The almost 70% are perfectly integrated. Of course, vintages like 2006 & 2007 are a different caliber. But the young Australian also gives me great pleasure

Straight away: can handle water, otherwise you miss too much. Then it opens better, smells and tastes more complex. Nose mostly fruity, a bit spicy; tongue definitely South fruit aromas, also something candied, nice cask influence, nicely complex (with water!), without also interesting, velvety sharp coating the mouth cavity, but not so complex.

Too bad. The nose is light with notes of pears, tropical fruit and some honey notes, the palate immediately contrasts with a spicy, almost astringent bitterness, the alcohol is not very well integrated, really a pity, the nose was superb.
