Sipping this neat is rough going — members mostly taste neutral alcohol with a musty, medicinal edge and very little else. One taster clocks "expired paracetamol and grandma's old cologne"; others find it sharp, bitter and soapy with a fleeting finish. It's an old-school Batavia Arrak blend, more curiosity than pour, and the room here is nearly unanimous that it's a struggle.

Once again an outstanding tasting that Artur organized superbly. Many thanks for the introduction to the world of Arra(c)ks. The blends are a real challenge for the taste buds. But I was really surprised by this BASF bottling. My deepest respect for the time and effort that is always put into it. It's a real honor to be able to attend such tastings again and again.

Arrac(k)-Tasting 2.0 von Artur. Eine spannende Tasting-Reise mit einer beeindruckenden Bandbreite an Stilen und Profilen. Von rauchig über fruchtig bis würzig war alles vertreten – teils etwas unausgewogen, teils überraschend rund. Besonders einige Abfüllungen zeigten viel Charakter und Tiefe und blieben im Gedächtnis. Ein Format, das richtig Spaß macht. Danke Artur für die Gelegenheit! 😊

Arra(c)k 2.0 tasting by Artur. Mostly neutral alcohol, very light pineapple and a hint of mushroom. On the palate, it's the same, but with an unpleasant, medicinal aftertaste. The finish is ultra-short, and once the alcohol is gone, that medicated taste remains. To be forgotten.

Parfümiert, Jod, muffig. Extrem kurz und unangenehm. Arra(c)k Attack 2.0 Tasting mit Artur einmal quer durch, von richtig fiesem Verschnitt bis zu erstaunlich guten Vertretern alles dabei. Tolle Reise zu dieser mir bis dato komplett unbekannten Spirituose.

Da das bei mir gestern leider nicht geklappt hat mit dem Tasting' weil ich nicht bei zoom reingekommen bin' wird das jetzt nach geholt. Dieses Zeug ist mit das grausame was ich je trinken durfte. Einfach nur alkoholisch.

Erinnert mich eher an einen billig Vodka ... Kaum aroma geschmacklich und auch die Nase ist sehr verhalten und primär neutral Alkohol. Leider kaum genießbar und definitiv nix was ich nochmal trinken muss😄
