Carribean Rum Shippers Ltd. Kingston Carib Sailer Rum

6.2/10
11 community reviews ↓

Overripe banana, varnished old wood and yellow fruit on the nose, then a quieter palate of light spice, a little vanilla and citrus. This is an old-style Jamaican from a column still — softer and tamer than today's funk bombs. Tasters liked the lively nose more than the short, slightly bitter caramel finish. A curiosity for people chasing vintage Jamaica, not a modern ester hit.

  • Fresh citrus nose
  • Soft and easy
  • Old-style character

Mild old-style Jamaican, nose beats palate A mild, old-school Jamaican that smells better than it tastes. Several found the nose fresh and lively but the palate too restrained, with a short, bitter finish hinting at coloring.

Nicely balanced and lively profile. Only downside is a rather bitter finish hinting to some caramel coloring.
