Review by Christoph H.
Very good, drinkable and balanced Low Ester Hampden. Blood orange peel and grapefruit. Overripe boiled down tropical fruits like papaya, passion fruit, banana. Sweet molasses, brown sugar and toffee. Over all hovers a heaviness of spice from the barrel, anise, malt and herbs. Very round in the mouth, heavy fruity and molasses sweetness. The heavy spice pushes right behind and dominates with anise, malt and wood from the barrel. In the mouth remain anise and quince Very good tropically matured Low Ester Hampden and for me now more significant than the High Ester range.

#4722 09.05.2024 Relaxing at home with a few of my Endemic Birds Samples. Nose Balanced, wood, light roasted, fruity, pineapple, spice, light citrus, faint leather. Palate Balanced, light, round, wood, faint smoke, fruity, cinnamon, light vegetal, clove. Finish Medium to long, round, wood, light smoke, light berries, faint chocolate. The empty glass has a light medicinal note, apples and faint caramel.

Very pleasant, creamy Hampden without the typical pineapple/ester notes. Mango and some papaya on the palate. Excellent OWH! Gets even better with a drop of water.

Low-Ester aber trotzdem geil.

Very tasty and extremely complex. Not an estery monster, rather a Hampden on the dignified side, which has benefited greatly from its time in the barrel. A successful selection - which doesn't surprise me in the slightest when you read who was allowed to make the selection here.

Tasted blind: Would have never guess Hampden let alone OWH. Best OWH I had so far tbh.

Wow, what a surprise! I would never have guessed it was from Jamaica. Alongside Appleton, it's the best proof that Jamaicans can also taste great outside of the ester hype.

Bester OWH, den ich pribiert habe. Blind verkostet und das hätte ich nie erraten. Fast schon richting PM getippt. Am Gaumen etwas alkoholisch aber sonst wirklich sehr toll.
