Une couleur pâle pour un Caroni. C’est presque un nez d’agricole avec des herbes amères et de la cane. Les fruits sont là, poire et coings avec de l’huile de machine à coudre. Des fruits tropicaux pas mûrs à l’arrière-plan. Une attaque douce en bouche, presque acqueuse avec un petit côté acide. Je ne sens pas le côté agricole mais la poire est bien là avec des fruits tropicaux pas mûrs. La finale est longue, sur les fruits et le tout s’atténue doucement. Le côté agricole et herbacé réapparaît tout à la fin et dans le verre vide. Un beau rhum, meilleur que sa réputation, que j’aurais peut-être classé parmis les agricoles à l’aveugle. A part un arôme d’huile de machine à coudre, il n’a rien d’un Caroni et encore moins d’un Caroni de 1996. Après une demi-heure, dans le verre vide, se développent quelques arômes d’atelier mécanique. Bon et intéressant mais pas convaincant et surtout trop dilué.

Nase: fruchtig und leicht künstlich. Apfel und Bergamotte. Aber nicht so deutlich, eher stumpf. Und auch das künstliche hält sich zurück. Etwas angeschmorte Kabel oder Knetmasse. Gaumen: kaum noch Fruchtigkeit, kaum dreckig. Sehr verdünnt und kurz. Würzig ist er, Sternanis, Lakritz, viel Lakritz, etwas Nelke. Leicht salzig. Kurz im Abgang, hier ist Lakritz dominant, vielleicht noch etwas künstliches, aber insgesamt zu flach.

1996er Crosstasting kontinental gelagerter Releases: Caroni-Profil schwach erkennbar. Angenehm, aber weit von den Highlights des Jahrgangs entfernt.
