Sip it neat and you get a thin but warm pour: honey, orange and a sweet, slightly oily body, with nutmeg, pepper and clove doing most of the work. The nose promises fruit that never fully arrives, and the finish is long but faint. One taster even caught the port cask it was finished on. Sweet-leaning, spicy, a bit simple.

Tasted on the sunny terrace of the holiday home on Fanø about 250m from its place of origin. But that's all the good that can be said about this rum. Very below average, reminds me of the Jamaica blends from the lower supermarket shelves. Riise says hi. Cloves, oranges, overwhelmed by sugar

It clearly focuses on sweetness and flavoring rather than depth. Vanilla, honey, and orange are present, along with some fruit and spices. Pleasantly soft, but with little character and quite one-dimensional. Rather uninteresting for purists.

Sample bought at the covered market in Copenhagen in a batch of three to discover. Like the first one tasted, it has a bit of spice, an impression of sugar and honeyed notes. Quite spicy, less fruity, and always a very short finish.

Shop visit Rum Paradise Hamburg December 2025. We got to try three Danes here. I expected worse, but it was quite okay. Very spicy, there’s nutmeg, pepper, clove, and vanilla.

This is the "wife" of the one called "Havmanden" and a bit sweeter. The nose is thin but fruity with honey and some vanilla. The palate is also thin but warm and fruity with spice and honey. I get a hint og the Port cask it was finished on. The finish is medium long and fruity with spice and a bit of wood.

Yesterday a good friend brought me the range directly from the island in 5cl samples to taste. Today a first test of the Havfruen. You really have to stick your nose deep into the glass to smell anything: honey and a slight orange note, maybe a bit of vanilla. On the palate, the honey sweetness is quite dominant. The orange also comes through well, but to my taste it seems a bit artificial. The finish has a hint of mint, but overall it's a very thin flavor profile. This one probably won't be for me.

Hmm difficult. On the nose incredibly flat and unremarkable. On the palate more than the smell suggests, nothing really dominant. Well balanced in a sweet cosmos. Personally a bit too sweet for me but everything fits together. The finish stays very long but very subtle. For a sweet rum a good thing. Will go into my wife's bar.

The smell makes you expect a completely different rum! The fruity does not come through at all! Initially a sweet oily honey taste, then the woody and spicy notes come through more and more! Overall very pleasant

Found during a visit to Denmark and grabbed a small bottle. You can definitely drink it (if you like sweet rums, I do), but it doesn't leave a lasting impression. Somehow, it's missing distinctive characteristics.
