Un bon hampden low ester. Meilleur avec une pointe d'eau. Arômes boisés sur l'amande, fruits discrets.

The nose starts very fruity, after a while the cask also comes into its own. Way down on the Hampden scale, but again amazingly intense! On the palate, unfortunately with a strong alcoholic spiciness but balanced between fruit and cask. Very good entry-level Hampden at cask strength.

Un Hampden léger et distillé en colonne pour un profil plus subtil. Le nez est dominant sur les fruits tropicaux mûrs (banane, ananas et mangue) mais laisse percevoir un voile d’esters assez fin, accompagné d’un boisé qui a légèrement marqué le rhum. Un nez délicat mais qui manque un peu de tonicité. On reste dans la subtilité en bouche. Les fruits exotiques prennent le pas, avant qu’un léger boisé et une touche de vanille ne fassent leur entrée. Les notes acidulées d’agrumes et les tanins sont également de la partie. Une association assez classique au tempérament plutôt calme malgré le degré affiché. La finale tire un peu plus sur les notes phénoliques et médicinales. Les fruits et le bois suivent en arrière-plan. C’est un peu plus sec mais toujours accessible. Un Hampden clairement fait pour varier des profils high ester. Il n’est pas mal fait mais il manque quelque chose pour être vraiment au top niveau.

Un nez plutôt léger, frais avec un petit côté beurré. La bouche est à l'opposé : très intense, elle ne peut tromper ses origines. Les fruits tropicaux sont là, les esters aussi. Il y a aussi un petit côté boisé et rôti. Contrairement à d'autres je trouve cet Hampden pas trop agressif. Avec un côté boisé fumé, la longueur en bouche pourrait être meilleure Pour qui aime ces profils, c'est un bon rapport qualité prix !

Im Vergleich heute, der Velier OWH 2018 RX17319 und der OWH von Rum Runner RX15797. Vom Geruch hat der Velier die Nase für mich vorne. Wesentlich intensiver als der Rum Runner. Vom Geschmack liegt der Velier für mich auch vorne. Als Fazit, beide sind gut, aber es gibt bessere.

I've had much better OWH in my glass... while the nose is still very harmonious with fruit, burnt sugar and a certain soft lightness, it loses its way on the palate. After a brief sweet intermezzo at the beginning, only wood, spice and roastiness dominate, with virtually no fruit at all. This is a little too one-sided for me

In direct comparison with RX10598. Slightly shallower and rounder. But overall the poorly integrated alcohol and the fizzy mouthfeel at the back. However, not expensive and perhaps a mediocre introduction to Hampden.
