Excellent. Panama and hampden blend very well together. Notes of candied fruit, chocolate, very long on red fruit. A hell of a job. Top-notch. After a few months open, the aromas really melt into each other. Ricci really are the kings of blends!
Nose: the DOK dominates but the character of the rum from Panama is also noticeable. Overall, however, quite restrained. Palate: Panama is clearly more present here and not much of the DOK is noticeable. The alcohol is not optimally integrated. In the finish, the fruitiness of the Hampden comes through again very nicely. Nice interplay between the two rums! A very successful blend. Unfortunately, the alcohol is quite present, otherwise more than 9 points would be possible.
Tasted with RF2023, so tasting incomplete. Very aromatic right from the nose! The DOK is clearly present, with ripe tropical fruit solvents, and the panama adds a touch of caramelized pastry. Can't wait to taste it and take the time to appreciate it.
