A warm, classic Foursquare. Right from the start, the roundness of the nose settles on buttered caramel on a slice of lightly toasted bread, accompanied by milk chocolate and candied dried fruit. Toasted coconut is present. A note of sawdust, as if from a sawmill still in operation. On the palate, the bourbon barrel immediately develops a lovely toasty, caramelized woodiness, cinnamon, vanilla too, and a hint of ginger passing through. There's chocolate milk and dried fruit in the alcohol. It's greedy and generous. A spicy finish, followed by the leathery scents of a fireside chair and an already-opened cigar box. Very well-integrated alcohol throughout. A fine 16-year-old single cask.

Goûté au RF2023 donc dégustation sommaire. Un pur FS gourmand, avec son caramel sa coco, des notes vanillées/boisées mais avec du caractère tout de même.
