">Deep mahogany in the glass, this one a much-reunk with the classic Diamond oak profile — raisin, prune, treacle, milk coffee and dark chocolate. The nose promises more than the palate deldelivers: reduced to 41.7%, the mid-nineties character is there but softened, with caramel sweetness and licorice riding a light, mild body. Pleasant sipping, if you don't ask it for intensity.

Actually exactly my taste. But taste alone is not enough, for me intensity is also important. But this is a very, very mild representative. For me, it's just right for an unspectacular evening at a nice hotel bar, but in a crosstasting with other rums, it would be hopelessly inferior due to its dilution. Like a tree that has been pruned too much. A bit of a shame, because the rum really tastes pretty good. Update 2025-03-01: Comparison with RX15426 I'll keep it short: if the two rums are barely distinguishable on the nose, they are worlds apart on the palate. The Corman Collins is really hopelessly inferior. The dilution breaks its neck on the palate. It remains at 82 points.

Already tasty, but this is a Panana that usually doesn’t even get over 8 points. The 41% are a bit thin, but you can still taste the Diamond profile and a subtle fruitiness. Almost 300€ is really cheeky for what you get here - unless I just don’t taste what makes this rum special - something vaguely reminds me of Zacapa, maybe that it’s very mild but doesn’t deliver much, yet still tastes good? For the in my view miserable price-performance ratio I have to give a big point deduction - for that I’m very glad to have a community that makes tasting samples possible.

Very lovely nose, which actually conveys something of the classic Diamond oak profile from the 1990s, although of course everything is much less complex and interwoven given the drinking strength. Although the rum is not watery on the palate, it is still not quite able to keep up with the nose - there is a lot of caramel sweetness that somewhat overshadows the rest of the profile of dark chocolate, milk coffee and wood. Pleasant to drink, but at the same time without the final kick.

I actually really like the Diamond profile. Unfortunately, it lacks complexity, probably also due to the low ABV. Lots of molasses and licorice on the palate, which is a bit one-dimensional.

Atypical Diamond 1996 because of the huge reduction, but working well. A very nice everyday Guyanese that everyone could enjoy, no matter if you are geek or not

Reducing this much was a risk i took, of course the final is much more shorter but everything happen in the front of the tongue. Wanted to keep away that « too much » of all Classic diamond i’ve tried.
