Sipped neat it reads more like a resinous fruit schnapps than a rum — solvents and varnish up front, then lemon peel, pine and a buttery caramel middle, with neutral alcohol never far behind. One taster went as far as calling it a "BASF Abfüllung." A few found character in the citrus and light Jamaican hints; most landed around merely drinkable, and several noted it barely tastes like arrack at all.

This is also reasonably drinkable. Lots of lemon and lemon peel on the nose, solvents are also recognizable. Also lemon and lemon peel on the palate, some vanilla can be detected, but unfortunately also quite alcoholic again.

5,6:On the nose, solvents and varnish, glue, fruity with lemon, lemon peel, apple and pear, perhaps strawberry, vegetal and flowery molasses with rosemary, with fruit schnapps hints, smoky and spicy, resinous wood, bump into our nosetrils. 5,6:On the palate, the attack is alcoholic, fruity with citrus and tropical fruits, the molasses is vegetal, earthy, mineral, floral with rosemary, as the wood brings creamy, buttery caramel, vanilla, slightly smoky and resinous. 4,2:The finish is short with fermented fruits and vegetal molasses, the wood is spicy, buttery, slightly smoky and resinous.

Once again an outstanding tasting that Artur organized superbly. Many thanks for the introduction to the world of Arra(c)k. The blends are truly a challenge for the taste buds. But what really surprised me was this BASF bottling. My deepest respect for the time and effort that is repeatedly invested there. A real honor to be able to participate in such tastings again and again.

Arra(c)k 2.0 tasting by Artur. Varnish, butter and pear alcohol on the nose. The palate is diluted, alcoholic, buttery and fruity. Light oak, sweets but still neutral alcohol. The finish is short, but some aromas persist, fruit (grapes), butter, candy and light wood.

Totally unusual aroma of spruce, pine needles, rosemary and tree resin. Overall relatively mild and not as harsh as the previous Arrack blends. You can drink it but it doesn’t remind me of Arrack at all.😄

Arrac(k) tasting 2.0 by Artur. An exciting tasting journey with an impressive range of styles and profiles. Everything was represented—from smoky to fruity to spicy—sometimes a bit unbalanced, sometimes surprisingly round. Especially some bottlings showed a lot of character and depth and stayed memorable. A format that’s really fun. Thanks Artur for the opportunity! 😊

It’s getting there slowly, I like the citrus notes here. Arra(c)k Attack 2.0 tasting with Artur all across, from really nasty blends to surprisingly good representatives, everything included. Great journey to this spirit completely unknown to me until now.

And again a really nice Verschnitt. This has some varnish but loads of sweetnes some freshness and a little rubber. Butteric acid for days and some pastry to set it of. Really nice Punsch too. Would buy again
