Solvent, vinegar and a metallic tang lead here, with a sharp, thin body that mostly buries the sweeter sugarcane notes underneath. This is an Indonesian arrack blend, not a rum in the usual sense, and members were rough on it — one called it a "petrochemical accident dripping into a bottle." Even in a Punsch it struggled. A curiosity for arrack tasters, little more.

I'm still sorry that it didn't work out for me with the tasting :-( This one is already very hard. It is predominantly alcoholic, very metallic and chemical, solvents are recognizable.

4,5:On the nose, quite alcoholic, some solvents, fermented bananas, apples, citrus fruits, slightly pungent, vegetal, perfumed, spicy with black pepper, metallic patina, dairy and vinegar, cheese hints are present. 1,8:On the palate, the attack is sweet with sugarcane, a bit fruity, fermented, alcoholic, chemical, metallic and bitter, astringent, some solvents and rubber are present. 1:The finish is short, medicinal, metallic, sharp, alcoholic, fermented, chemical.

Once again an outstanding tasting that Artur organized superbly. Many thanks for the introduction to the world of Arra(c)ks. The blends are truly a challenge for the taste buds. But what really surprised me was this BASF bottling. My deepest respect for the time and effort that is repeatedly put into it. A real honor to be able to participate in such tastings again and again.

Arra(c)k 2.0 tasting by Artur. A more expressive nose with solvents, musty wood, candy, vegetal and pepper. The palate is diluted and neutral alcohol dominates the few aromas, candies and grenadine syrup. The finish is short, a little longer than the previous ones, but an unpleasant chemical, medicinal edge ruins it completely.

Relatively fruity and perfumed on the nose but also very pungent and fermented, reminiscent of vinegar. The taste is then primarily sharp and at the same time sweet and syrupy (no wonder with Riemerschmied as a syrup producer). The finish is extremely sharp and metallic. Really bad...

Arrac(k)-Tasting 2.0 by Artur. An exciting tasting journey with an impressive range of styles and profiles. From smoky to fruity to spicy, everything was represented – sometimes a bit unbalanced, sometimes surprisingly round. Especially some bottlings showed a lot of character and depth and stayed in memory. A format that is really fun. Thanks Artur for the opportunity! 😊

Musty nothingness.

Better than the last one, yet flat and unpleasantly musty. Arra(c)k Attack 2.0 tasting with Artur all over, from really nasty blends to surprisingly good representatives, all included. Great journey to this spirit completely unknown to me until now.

Not a big fan of this one. Although the nose is okay-ish, the taste is just too sharp to be able to enjoy any of the other more sweeter notes. The finish is rough as well. Not something I would reach for again.
