Nobody saw this coming from a chemical company's wine cellar — and it turned into the surprise favorite of a whole arrak tasting. Think Savanna Grand Arôme relocated to Indonesia: overripe tropical fruit, strawberry, briny olive, roasted nuts and cream toffee, with a menthol-candy twist. At 60% it drinks rounder than you'd expect. High-ester and funky, but it barely tastes like classic Batavia arrak at all.

Wow echt klasse dieser Arrack, hätte ich nach den vorherigen kaum erwartet. Sehr holzig und röstig in der Nase, geröstete Nüsse lassen sich erkennen. Am Gaumen dann sehr intensiv, wieder holzig und würzig, geröstete Nüsse und Olive sind erkennbar.

Once again an outstanding tasting that Artur organized superbly. Many thanks for the introduction to the world of Arra(c)k. The blends are a real challenge for the taste buds. But what really surprised me was this BASF bottling. My deepest respect for the time and effort that is repeatedly put into it. A real honor to be able to participate in such tastings again and again.

Arra(c)k 2.0 tasting by Artur. A very fruity nose with yellow fruit (apple), cashew nuts, strawberry candy and very well-integrated wood. Yellow fruit on the palate with toffee, discreet wood, olive, red fruit and yogurt. The finish is rather long, with yellow fruit and wood. The wood lingers for a very long time. A very original bottle with a beautiful label and you can't help but think of a Grand Arôme de Savanna here. My favorite so far!

Arrac(k)-Tasting 2.0 by Artur. An exciting tasting journey with an impressive range of styles and profiles. From smoky to fruity to spicy was all represented – partly a bit unbalanced, partly surprisingly round. Especially some bottlings showed a lot of character and depth and stayed in memory. A format that is really fun. Thanks Artur for the opportunity! 😊

Crazy what BASF (or their wine cellar) has put into the bottle here!😄 Strongly reminds of Savanna or Le Galion Grand Arome with these intense strawberry, menthol cough drop, olive, and toffee cream candy notes. Taste-wise very round and pleasant to drink at 60% and for 20€ a bottle anyway a joke. But it doesn't remind me of Batavia Arrack at all?!😄

Wow, Savanna goes Indonesia! Unexpected intensity with strawberries, tropical fruits and lactic acid. Creamy & funky, long finish. Super! Arra(c)k Attack 2.0 tasting with Artur all across, from really nasty blends to surprisingly good representatives, everything included. Great journey to this spirit completely unknown to me until now.

Definitely my absolute highlight in arrak so far. A high ester bomb that changes from Savanna to haribi tropifruti to something completely of its own. What an amazing drink this made. I am sad I don't own a carton of this
