In my opinion, the alcohol is not cleanly integrated. Extremely dry on the palate.

Very mature Caroni, the age is clearly evident through the present wood. The somewhat more subtle alcohol strength is very well integrated, opening the rum pleasantly and offering space for a complex aromatic play of wood, tar, rubber, a prominent mix of dark spices and medicinal-mineral aromas. The dry but not astringent mouthfeel is intense, with gripping cask notes that demand a fondness for long-aged distillates, but for me still play within an enjoyable range. A really good, intense Caroni representative from 1994.
