Expect classic 2000 Caroni: tar and bicycle-tube rubber, roasted notes, milk chocolate, with a surprising mint streak and some dried apricot poking through. One reviewer called it "extremely woody, but still nice Caroni," and that heavy tarry grip lingers a long time.

Epic Velier Caroni Tasting 2023: Cask meets mint, concise cask influence, plus very present mint aromas. Beautiful interplay of aromas. HTR notes play a rather subordinate role. Very good Caroni and typical representative of the 2000 vintage.

#4852 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Wood, light roasted, light fruits, faint smoke, light medicinal, light petrol, faint citrus. Palate Medium intense, wood, light roasted, light citrus, fruits, light herbal, light medicinal faint honey, light earthy, light banana. Finish Medium to long, wood, faint smoke, light pineapple, spice, light herbal, faint mint. Not a bad release but the price tag is still out of this world 😊

Extremely woody, but still nice Caroni profile. The woody-Caroni taste remains on the tongue for a long time... ... Caroni is a distillery from Trinidad that produced rum in its heyday, which was added in a ratio of 1:10 to naval blends. It was too distinctive and strange to be pleasant on the tongue. The distillery ended production and was closed in 2000. Only in 2010 did tasters appear who liked the rum precisely for its special taste. Interest grew. Caroni belongs to the category of rums "you need to try before you die." I recommend it; Caroni is truly a unique rum.
