This rum also tends more towards the sweeter side, despite the 52%. On the nose we have caramel and cookies, as well as some wood. On the palate also wood and spices, some chocolate is also recognizable. Now I'm done with Rum Paradise ;-)

A rum from my early days. I had actually kept it for visitors who first had to be introduced to (somewhat stronger) rum. However, since the sweethearts dared to try it, I have now opened it for myself (on weekdays it can also be something undemanding). And what can I say: it tastes good! Am I falling off the sweet rum wagon? 😉

Vanilla, wood, spices and caramel. A classic ron that's easy enough to drink (also because the sugar does its job and the 52 goes for 40.) Personally, it's not what I like, but I have to admit it's pretty well done for a public that likes this profile.

Sweet nose with caramel, cocoa, spice(black pepper) and citrus. The palate is rounder with the same aromas and in addition young wood, grapes and some leather. The abv could be integrated better

My RumRatings review from 5 years ago: On the nose, the rum is quite strong but needs some time to shake off the sharpness. Then a fruity sweet aroma with tobacco and a bit of wood influence unfolds. Over time it also becomes spicy without feeling heavy. On the palate, the sharpness is definitely noticeable. The rum is spicy sweet. Caramel and raisins. But also orange and chocolate. It becomes sweeter on the tongue and definitely shows a certain complexity. The finish starts with chocolate and is caught by wood and cask notes. Oak and orange but also a sweetness like jam remains present. The 52 is definitely tasty and suits me more than the XO. So I am satisfied. But the price at 65 euros is also clearly above the XO. The 52 loses a bit of the lightness and mildness that characterizes the El Pasodor del Oro XO. I would rate both about the same. Both are good solid tasty rums. Because of the price, the XO is more recommended if it’s a blind buy.

Aroma's are really pleasant Woody and spicy. Flavor start with pleasant fruty note with mixed with Woody and spicy in the end. For the aftertaste it's long lasting much more heavy on the spicy and bitter The overall IS balance but it lacks of complexity in my opinion
