Nose The nose is full of vermouth influence; very herbal. Lots of nutmeg, a bit of minty toothpaste. Strong Martini Rosso, with a pronounced wormwood effect that I think is present. Light biscuit undertones; like Petit Beurre or Cicibebe. Slight cinnamon. Toasty undertones. A bit of cream of coconut. Lightly buttered toasted bread. Leafiness. Licorice root, star anise! Maybe tarragon (?). Yes, the vermouth might have somewhat overshadowed the potential; there is a very "in your face" effect here but the base is not completely empty. Good. 83 Palate On the palate, a somewhat watery low to mid-low body. Quite noticeable, if not high, mid-high sweetness but balanced by the bitterness of the botanicals. Again a little buttered toasted bread. Lots of nutmeg, star anise and licorice root, obvious wormwood and vermouth influence. Maybe slight floral notes, leafiness. Not overly complex but not unpleasant. Definitely offers an atypical experience. 82 Finish A winey note in the background. On top again fresh tarragon and nutmeg. Mid-low intensity, short finish. There is a floral side again. A bit of sakura. Perfume-like. Maybe sandalwood. Possibly chokeberry. Dry mulberry. Unfortunately, this part is a bit too shallow. Flawless but a bit weak, thin. 80 Overall impression: I must admit the itching side here is the customer side; vermouth will add a heavy, dominant aroma, which is not hard to predict. The promises on the label are kept; a rum that never feels too young with vermouth influence added heavily to its body. Integrating the vermouth effect through blending into a harmony might have created a more balanced rum. The rum seems to have a bit more potential but dilution seems to have gotten in the way, unfortunately, though I think the heavy vermouth influence would have curbed that potential anyway. In the end, it's not a "bad" rum but it has balance issues. Trying it is definitely educational, interesting and certainly not unpleasant. 83 Total: 82 [82] Price-performance: Good, mid-good. Would I buy again?: Experiencing it was enough basically but having it as a gimmick wouldn't be nonsense either.

#6217 10.01.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after a huge shopping round with my wife. Nose Fresh, sweet, herbs, light wood, light mint, dried fruit, light citrus, clove. Palate Oily, light, sweet, light wood, herbs, cinnamon, light citrus, dried fruit, faint caramel. Finish Short to medium, light, sweet, light berries, light orange, herbs, light mint. Empty glass faint smoke, orange, light caramel, vanilla, clove, light floral.
