Clément Rare Cask Collection Danemark 2002
Most tasters land somewhere between "really good" and blown away by this one, calling it a fruity aged bomb with dark chocolate, roasted coffee, licorice and a heavy cask stamp. It's round and complex, with the alcohol tucked in well despite 56.6%. The one honest catch: a few find the finish too dry, woody and bitter, drowning out the dried fruit.

Overall a really nice Clément but it feels kind of unbalanced to me. It is way too dry and wood driven so that the dried fruits can’t really shine betweens the heavy spices. The nose is really pleasant with some flowers, fruits, wood and a nice freshness. The palate reminds me of an old Cognac with its grapes, vanilla and wood. The finish is the part is dislike the most, here it is just too much wood and a bitterness silencing everything else. So it seems that keeping on drinking is the solution here, just skip the finish.

Wiedermal ein sehr leckerer Clement Rare Cask. Nase Sehr Fruchtig Orange, Johannisbeeren Kiwi . Honig , Blüten etwas Nelke , Lakritz... generell sehe würzig. Unglaublich Harmonisch und keinerlei stechend . Gaumen Leicht Ölig im Mund . Alkohol sehr gut eingebunden.

Top 👍🏻

unusually fruity for an Agricole on the nose. There is a hint of star fruit and kumquat, plus a nice Nutella note and a minty, herbal freshness. Cherry wood, caramel, tobacco and nutmeg on the palate. The finish is rather dry...I really like it!

Whisky & Rom Festival 2023 28.10.2023 This is a retaste of the Danish release and it's still really good. ----------------------- Another great rum from Martinique with good complexity all in all a perfect rum.

Review by Schnubbi
