8,5:On the nose, the opening impression is with light esters, unripe banana, green apple and spicy, roasted wood, a bit metallic. On aeration, new fruits arrive with citrus-lemon peel, dried apricots and raisins, spices like baking spices, vanilla, there are nuts and honey, iodine for youth, as a molasses brings grass and red bell peppers. 8,5:On the palate, the attack round and tasty, sweet, with fruits like citrus, dried fruits, light esters and unripe banana, green apple, roasted wood notes with caramel, pastry and honey, perhaps from Mauritius cane, spices like vanilla, allspice, a bit salty. The palate shows all the complexity of this rum.The molasses is herbaceous, later flowery and with red bell peppers, goes dark with licorice. Some ripe pineapple joins the show and lemon peel. 8,2:The finish is rather short, medium, dry, still tasty, creamy in the beginning, turns quite acidic after a while with yoghurt notes, as sour cherry improves the picture a bit..

A strong and spicy rum that seems much heavier on the Barbados and Guyana, rather than the Jamaica and Martinique, despite being 70% Jamaican based on my understanding of the blend number (J700). Hot, spicy, with a long finish. Could be a little bit tamer to help bring out the characteristics of the individual rums, but still very fun. After proofing down to ~50%, many more characteristics are apparent and this rum drinks much better.
