Blindly I would have guessed REV (malt, licorice, molasses, gentle) in the smell, KFM (earth, wood, leather, black tea, strong) in the taste. Definitely 100% Guyana and quite to my taste. A very fine droplet at a comparatively affordable price. I'm afraid I'll have to stock up on this rum. 😋 Update 2023-07-29: Slight downgrade from 89 to 87 points: The rum lacks a bit of fruitiness to play at the top.

Really strong, really good Diamond, full bodied, powerfull, but needs time to fully open up! Pay attention to the spiciness nose! First I guess this one is frome enmore🤔 I got some bottles, so I secured for the next months 🤤😃

A nose where the alcohol is present but not dominant, old varnished wood followed by overripe banana, pineapple and a hint of pastry. Flavors are precise, but the alcohol remains lively. The alcohol also marks the palate, but without dominating. The greediness sensed on the nose is revealed and blends harmoniously with varnished wood and dried banana. The finish is a little disappointing, a little too short, but a bitter, vegetal caramel lingers for a very long time. A very fine rum with smoky aromas in the empty glass, balanced despite the lively alcohol. Its not entirely convincing finish loses it a few points.

MDS, i.e. from the Savalle still (of which there are two at DDL). The color seems to me very dark, probably, colored. The high ABV is already clearly perceptible on the nose and palate. A few drops of water make the RumClub rounder. Otherwise, a nice profile with spices, dried fruit, tobacco, leather....

This is a Guyana just to my taste, wonderfully spicy, strong and with good value for money. This is already a positive exception. From palate to finish it is consistently on the heavy dark side! I really like this bottling.

A powerful, opulent Diamond with a big barrel. The nose is powerful and intense, but oscillates between dark, spicy oak (licorice, roasted notes, molasses, chili, leather, dark chocolate, coffee) and fruit (coconut, cherry, blackcurrant, prune, raisin). It's a greedy, straightforward profile that's like an iron fist in a velvet glove. The attack on the palate is frank, straightforward and unpretentious. Chocolate, Demerara sugar, molasses, spices (vanilla, licorice, pepper, chili) and roasted hazelnuts are present for the gourmet side. Fruit is always present in the background (coconut, dried fruit). However, this "sweet heaviness" is quickly calibrated by strong, untamed alcohol, very dark woody notes and harder flavors of leather and tobacco. Despite its relative greediness, this is a profile that doesn't take much time to air out. The finish is of decent length. Although the power of the juice is still perceptible, the aromas lose their superb quality, resulting in a profile that is less complex, less harmonious and, on the contrary, more clear-cut. The main Demerara aromas (hot caramel, molasses, dark, gourmand notes of chocolate and coffee, spices, leather, tobacco and dried fruit) are still present, but without being flamboyant or transcendent. A pleasant profile for drinking a gourmet, peachy rum, but lacking a little depth to take it to the next level. Still, the value for money is very good for what it offers.

Super powerful Guyana, immediately molasses, dry fruits, dark chocolate and a few dirty notes that one is more accustomed to from Trinidad. The alcohol is super integrated. I personally have left the rum just under 30 minutes in the glass before I tasted it, that has definitely done him good. Great bottling once again from RumDepot, I am thrilled. Price performance I find this rum also really fair!

Dark! Tobacco, mocha, oak and spices. Tart, powerful nose. A touch of alcohol blows around the nose, with a few drops of water it goes noticeably smoother and milder. In the mind abundant caramel, wood and spices. Long, powerful and tingly finish. Masculine! The inexpensive alternative to the 1999 .😅 Shoutout to Bonn for this lovely sample.

Kneipe Alte Post Witten Februar 2025. Als nächstes der Rum Club Ed. 36. Nase ist klasse, wir haben hier Holz, Kaffee und Lakritze. Am Gaumen dann dunkle Schokolade, Holz und Kakao. Ein sehr röstiger Rum.

The color and age suggest that the rum came into the barrel colored after production.The nose is not as heavy and powerful as many of the El Dorade Rare Cask bottlings. The alcogol tweaks quite noticeably - not unusual at 65%. The nose is pleasing with burnt sugar, vanilla and bourbon and some dried fruit - but not particularly complex overall. Reminds me of good Spanish style rums.Then a consistent continuation on the palate: more dark chocolate and dark dried fruit. Again the alcohol strikes me unpleasantly.In the aftertaste further no surprise. The emphasis here is on the barrel notes, spice and coffee with a little harmless bitterness.Conclusion: Fair bepreistert standard Guyanarum, just "very good "Is possibly due to my form of the day and my hay fever nose, I will repeat the tasting soon.

#4141 This is a very nice release and the price tag is really good compared to what you get. Roasted wood with nice fruits and a medicinal note. Well balanced and good ABV integration. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some licorice and coffee.

Powerful rum that lingers long on the palate. Licorice notes, pleasant wood, cask notes, coffee and a bit of plum in the finish remind me of Guyana. Added to that is a certain (delicious) dirtiness that I would have blindly placed in Trinidad. Sober it might seem a bit alcoholic at first, but that disappears immediately after the first sip and gives way to the excellently harmonizing aromas.

Ui beautiful board. Dark, woody, malty, powerful. The 65% gives a long warm finish. The alcohol could have been integrated a little better for my taste. Nevertheless, a very good rum for a reasonable price.

Vůně lehce alkoholická, kombinace sušeného ovoce, karamelu, melasy a kávy. Výrazná chuť melasy s karamelem a čokoládou. Trošku datle a káva. V závěru zase káva, čokoláda na karamel, melasa, datle. Takový těžký hutný rum, ale dle mého gusta.

Farbtrinkern wird bei dem dunklen Ton das Herz aufgehen. Sehr schöne dunkle Farbe im Glas, was auf eine Färbung schließen lässt. In der Nase erstmal die vollen 65% vol. Alkohol und ein wenig Lösungsmittel. Nach ein paar Minuten dann Aromen von Trockenpflaumen, würzige Lakritze, Kakao und über allem schwebt eine Holznote. Was die Nase versprach, das wird am Gaumen fortgeführt. Trockenpflaumen, eine Mischung aus Kakao und dunkler Schokolade. Fassaromen und malzige Röstaromen. Aber am Gaumen machen sich die 65% vol. bemerkbar. Keineswegs unangenehm. Im langen Nachklang überwiegend Aromen nach verbrannten Zucker, Malz und Mokka. Dieses Wochenende habe ich 4 Rums von Spirit of Rum (Fiji, Brazil, Hawaii und den Guyana)verkostet und die Edition 36 (Guyana) ist für mich der Gewinner des Wochenendes.

Tried the last one, the 12th, GRF, and bought it right away because it's a nice, not too complicated Diamond. But I'm only getting around to tasting now. Nose: pleasantly spicy-fruity-woody. Lots of sweet-sour molasses syrup with sweet, soft licorice. Also dark-fruity, dried plum, blackcurrant, and dried blood orange. Fine roasted notes with wood and vanilla. All wrapped in a sweetness of burnt sugar and honey. Slightly alcoholic, otherwise really tasty. 8.4 Palate: strongly woody, roasted, and spicy. Initially bitter and salty-peppery-sharp. Also reminiscent of sour molasses syrup. The bitter tone remains and turns into mocha. I'm still looking for the restrained fruit at the back, possibly old dried plum or plum jam. On the palate a bit too sour-bitter. 8.2

Here we have another cool candidate for the PLV championship. Really very fairly priced and much better than expected. Dark with malt, caramel, licorice fruit, varnish and glue. There are better ones, but not at this price. Better than the Bellamy's Diamond from last year, which was similarly priced (albeit for 0.7)

First impression without comparison was really great, for the price for me close to 9 points. The second time compared to other rums I have to correct something. On the palate you notice alcohol first and also not insanely complex. Nevertheless, still very good. Above all, the PLV is top. Under 80 euros for 0.5 are worth it.

It's a nice rum albeit integration of alcohol requires some time to help it to tone down. On the nose I was happy to pick up some fruitiness, on palate after some berry fruitiness, it quickly turns to burnt caramel, dark chocolate and nuttiness, so the barrel is quite strongly felt.

Guyana essence! This rum just screams one thing to me in many ways: Guyana. Dark, as one knows from many (colored) rums from there, with a surprisingly sweet, but also bitter and thus reminiscent of molasses and licorice nose and a neat bitter note on the palate, which reminds me strongly of KFM. Although this rum comes from the DDL cauldrons (and thus, unlike REV and KFM, was no longer distilled directly at Enmore), it does have the DNA of those rums in it, as I've known from few post-2000 Demeraras so far. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of too strong bitterness and the alcohol is also still very present with its 65%, so it is only enough for me for a place in the front 8.x range. Nevertheless, a nice rum from Guyana, which is especially for the somewhat more moderate purse (whatever that must mean in the meantime...) a good buy!

Thanks to Lada for the sample. This is another Diamond still rum from 2008, it's very wood forward and hot. Alcohol could be better integrated, raw it gives wood, chocolate and an alcoholic polish note in the nose. The palate is hot and the dried fruits are in the back. I've added a few drops of water and it really help the rum to breathe, moka is coming out more and make the rum more pleasant. Overall a pleasant rum, but water is needed, and the price is way too high for what it delivers.

On the nose nicely chocolaty with some allspice. On the palate chocolate, spices and also some licorice, in the background then slightly dark fruits. The alcohol is well integrated. On the finish then vanilla. For me not quite the quality of Ed. 39 or Ed. 46 yet, but somehow I find it really nice and smooth. And for the retail price quite fair.

This kind of rum hits the mark with me right now. Heavy and oily, spicy, roasted and at the same time appropriately sweetish and fruity. Also, the high alcohol content is well integrated and requires no addition of water. Really nice!

Very dark flavor profile with some dirty notes as well as that typical Guyana note which I find hard to describe (soy sauce, Maggi without salt?). Certainly a good rum with excellent value for money, but not really my thing.

Solid Guyana, but a bit unbalanced. A bit sweet & alcoholic for my taste, with a surprising amount of wood on the finish. Needs water to balance out and let the chocolate & dark fruits shine.

Quite one-dimensional, both on the nose and on the palate. Everything leans towards dark roasted notes. On the nose quite sweet, on the palate rather a slight bitterness. The alcohol could be better integrated, otherwise delicious. Good rum, especially considering the price. So a clear recommendation from me.

I could just so get hold of this bottling something before it was sold out. Colored the rum in the glass with its dark tones of course immediately awakens certain expectations of fullness and heaviness, which then show themselves in the tasting but initially only very shy. In the nose I imagine with closed eyes first even slightly lemony notes, as if the rum would be significantly younger than it actually is. Otherwise, there are mainly dried fruits in the glass.On the tongue then shows first of all the alcohol, which is still noticeable even after it has already been diluted by saliva. After that comes a lot of wood and smoke - you can taste the barrel. Unfortunately, the alcohol is still very much to the fore. My nose and tongue do not quite agree on the interpretation.Only in the finish it becomes slowly coherent - the sharpness of the alcohol turns into warmth, and so slowly come through the flavors that had it a little harder earlier.This rum was not love at first sight, but somehow I pour it then again and again, because he pleases me despite its edges with each time better.

A solid Guyana with a top price-performance ratio. My first association was the Bellamy Diamond from 2012 - but the RumClub is a notch more complex. Apart from the pronounced licorice note, the taste of forest floor and musty wood is very present and at the end it surprises again with a pleasant coffee note.

So really warm I do not get with the buddy here, although he warms up well.😉Much spice, much wood, too much dye. The dried fruits are completely lost on the palate. Burnt flavors remain at the end. It will remain with the 10cl.

Molasses with alcohol note... I totally like the 2001 SWRs, the 2006 REV are a bit 'simpler'. This one is even a bit 'less complex'. Too young?! The alcohol note is not sharp, on the contrary, surprisingly round for 65%. It's more a Mon Cherie-like 'there's schnapps in it' note, both on the nose and palate. Well, and molasses with its usual dried fruit/chocolate/noble wood hints. But somehow everything is too simple, too little intertwined. Despite 15 years in the cask, it somehow feels unfinished.

Excellent, rich and fruity on the attack. Development on a woodiness that does not cross into bitterness. The fruit always stays on top. Powerful, slight roasted touch. Needs a bit of opening. Excellent.
