#4917 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Light wood, light roasted, fruits, light cherry, light anise, faint glue. Palate Round, light wood, faint roasted, light anise, berries, light glue, light cherry. Finish Medium long, fresh, light oily, light wood, light cherry, fruits, spice, faint caramel. Pretty OK release.

Rums from the Savanna distillery are among my favorites. I recommend everyone try especially the ester-heavy pieces like Grand Arome or HERR. You haven't felt so much fruit in just a few drops of liquid for a long time.

The oldest from this bottler, with a round, vanilla, herbal nose on dried cane, the mouth even reduced in alcohol level releases a bouquet of scents characteristic of the distillery with cane, vanilla, cooked exotic fruits, dry wood and spices on white pepper enhance the scents. The herbal side returns with dry sap, sweet fruits, guava, mango, pineapple... mixed and sweetened, the wood returns with the cane again and a fleeting camphor sensation, fairly long and persistent finish.
