Cherry, dry wood and a thread of smoke run through this cask-strength Foursquare from N. Kröger. Several tasters catch a sherry sweetness with roasted, chocolate-y edges, and one summed it up as "wood, caramel and cherry." At 61.9% it drinks softer than the number suggests, though a few find the finish thins out and the oak takes over if it sits too long.

#4589 26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirit The best of them but again you'll have to be a member to get them. Nose Light, wood, light smoke, fruits, light caramel. Palate Round, wood, light smoke, cherry, light coconut, sweet, light chocolate. Finish Medium long, wood, roasted, light cherry and chocolate.

Der wagemut scc 2023 px sherry cask ist in der nase sehr sherry lustig und Alkohol intensiv . Im Mund sehr trocken und scharf. Der madera Scc gefällt mir weit aus mehr muss ich zu geben. Denoch ist er für fortgeschrittene zu empfehlen

Successful bottling, very smooth despite the high alcohol content, watch out!☝🏻😀 Intense sherry notes combined with great woody aromas and fine sweetness. For me, one of the better bottlings from the SCC range recently. I feel like this bottle should be enjoyed soon in a nice round, if it sits too long it turns too negatively woody.

Last one for today, about time :) Anyway, thanks for the bottle goes out to FischeJ. I find it pretty good to take as a Barbados example. Relatively fruity, red fruits, pineapple and cherry are recognizable.

Again a somewhat atypical Foursquare. On the nose a slightly smoky/bacon note, which continues on the palate and harmonizes well with the sweetness. I like it better than its younger 10y brother RX13191 with the olive-(almost off-)note. Unfortunately remains somewhat pale and one-dimensional on the finish. You can buy it, but you don't have to.

Sweet and quaffable, the maple syrup is noticeable through a biting sweetness. Overall a little thin and flat and with a very quick finish, otherwise there would still be potential here

Brilliant stuff... feels like a liqueur at first, then comes 62 volts! Followed by Captain Ahab's wooden leg aroma, then warm sherry sweetness. Stays extremely long in the mouth. But you have to like wood... that dominates!

Great wood note from the bourbon barrel. You can smell the sherry, very subtle in taste. Smell and taste a bit alcoholic. Alcohol could be better integrated.
