Best sipped neat when you're in the mood for something sweet and sherry-soaked. The PX finish pushes hard: raisin, honey, coconut chips, caramel and dried apricot, with a little chocolate and coffee underneath. Several tasters found the nose almost too liqueur-like and cloying, but agreed the palate pulls it back into balance. Wood and cinnamon keep it from tipping fully into dessert.

Oh wow, a really surprisingly good rum. It's very, very slightly sweet, but mega fine. On the palate then a nice honey taste, vanilla, caramel as well as tropical fruits. Really surprisingly good this rum :-)

Quite surprising, I didn't expect that. It almost seems like a gourmand rum with caramel coconut, the cask gave influence to the juice, especially on the nose. Lenez and the entry in the mouth a bit spicy. Quite a lot of roundness overall and a nice coconut milk that stays present throughout the tasting.

Raisin pure! Rarely have I experienced so much sherry influence but here it paradoxically fits and is not unpleasant. Coconut chips, caramel, candied fruit and slightly winey aromas. I like it surprisingly well. Very easy to drink when you want something a bit sweeter.

Aroma intensely sweet clearly Pedro Ximenez, dried apricots, figs and dates, toasted coconut flakes, toffee, vanilla and like chocolate❓, oak. 👅 Oily alcohol hidden, rum not too sweet in perception but in the style of dried fruits, mainly apricot and fig and vanilla, with time woody and bourbon notes and coconut.

Round taste experience with an intense, natural sweetness. Takes some getting used to on the nose. Delicious honey, raisins and red fruits on the palate, accompanied by wood, chocolate and a hint of coffee. My wife doesn't really like unsweetened rums, but she was able to make friends with this one.

Thai rum from a distillery 80 km from Bangkok where Scheer regularly sources. Molasses, no added sugar, 24h fermentation and 5/6 column stills, aged locally in southern Thailand at sea level with 7% angel's share and then one year in Spain in PX casks. Well, juicy PX casks can always create tension for the informed consumer but here, you have to admit it's a UFO and the PX integration is perfect. Ultra indulgent rum between black cherry, spice, and honey... much better and by far than most rums from the four corners of the world that they now want to sell us claiming the discovery of a closed distillery 😁.

A rather special rum from Indonesia, whose finish makes the nose ultra liquorish and sweet, both confusing and sickening in the long run. Red fruits and grapes join the festivities for a mellow concentrate that borders on overdose. Clearly not the most appealing nose. Fortunately, the rum makes up for it on the palate, becoming more accessible and a little more docile in its flavors. While we still feel the main markers (coconut, sweet notes, orchard fruits), the spices, particularly cinnamon, and the touch of alcohol reminiscent of wine and bourbon give the profile a little openness. The finish is quite long, sticky on the teeth, leaving a lasting imprint on the palate of fruit, caramel and alcohol. However, it's that hint of tannic woodiness on chocolate and coffee that makes the difference. A very special rum that won't suit everyone.

Honestly very good. Not a top-shelf rum obviously but a nice treat for a rather soft evening. The nose is pleasant more than extraordinary but the palate is indulgent balanced and you come back to it easily. Nice rum
