How good the Agricoles does a little more ABV, this rum shows convincingly. This is not the big complexity show and what you see is what you get. The aromas of the nose are found almost exactly the same in the mouth. The rum convinces with its balance and the depth that the increased drinking strength brings. Freshness and maturity are brought into a beautiful harmony. Fruit (apples, pears and limes), savory vegetal notes (green peppers, olive and hay) and woody spice (cinnamon, cumin) are super balanced. The alcohol is well integrated and the finish soft and surprisingly long. At the PLV simply an all-around successful product.

7,8:On the nose, typical agricole with sugar cane, mineral, for a second like a fruit schnapps, some rubber, young and spicy wood notes, nutty, salty and smoky, fruity with green apple, pear, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, yellow fruits are out, the cane is grassy with hay, some confectionery arises, spicy cinammon and vanilla, perhaps iodine. 8,1:On the palate, the attack is more attractive with sweet sugar cane juice, flowery and grassy, mineral, of course, salty, as the wood is spicy, oaky, roasted with nuts, leather, as barrel impact us felt.On oxidation, new fruits arise with citrus and hints of banana, the cane becomes herbal, vegetal with mushrooms, vanilla rounds the notes nicely. 7,9:The finish is medium length, dry, less fruity(pear), the cane is mineral, grassy, flowery, fresh with tea, herbaceous, as the wood is toasted, with similar notes as from the palate. Got this fresh, smooth and complex AOC rum as a Christmas gift from my son. It’s produced in their Creole column, but the unique part that they have added filtered seawater. The nose is sweet, mineral, woody and fruity with scents of sugarcane, iodine and pears. At the palate it’s sweet, mineral and spicy with flavors of salt. The finish is rather long and dry with consistent flavors.

One of the few bottles that manages to integrate iodine in a rum. But it is an iodine which is not abrupt and which is very well integrated, especially in the nose. It is a mastered rum which can be drunk without being an exceptional rum. So an interesting bottle to taste but not essential to have in its cellar.

incredibly beautiful Agricole and extremely good value for money! The nose is dominated by dark berries, vanilla and toasted croissant with dark chocolate and baked pears. on the palate, the salt note is added, which rounds off the whole thing really nicely and makes it more complex. not too much wood, not too little, very spicy, roasty and intense. the finish is more like fruit bread with raisins, cinnamon, star anise, allspice and pears and apples. very nice! if it were a little older now and the alcohol a little better integrated, it would be perfect. 🤤

#5291 01.05.2025 Running some samples while watching the TV Series "Reacher". Nose Fresh, grass, faint wood, Agricole, sugarcane, medium intense, light banana, light pear. Palate Fresh, light oily, fruits, naturally sweet, light earthy, sugarcane, light grass, faint chocolate. Finish Medium long, grass, light chocolate, sugarcane, light pear. Empty glass Grass, sugarcane, light mineral, light chocolate.

👃 The nose offers us woodiness, caramel, popcorn, ripe fruits and slightly floral notes. 👄 On the palate, there is also pepper, coffee, a bit of vanilla and a very discreet saltiness. It's dry, mineral with a long finish.

An elegant, soft, and original Trois Rivières. The nose recalls the marine and iodine notes, so unique to the distillery's terroir. The vesou, earthy and floral notes, and berries bring this "natural" side to the rum, while the warm spices (chili, cinnamon) add more punch. A balanced and invigorating profile. The pleasant attack on the palate, the 54% is a treat for the taste buds. The saline and agricultural notes blend harmoniously, while the spices, oak, leather, and roasted notes counterbalance the greenery with a kind of solar warmth. Citrus and dried fruits are more in the background. A beautiful meeting between Land and Sea. The finish is of good length, dry and balanced. You find earthy notes on hay, floral notes, aromas of iodine and salt, but also spices, oak, vesou, dried fruits, and a hint of citrus. A very good old rum, versatile and accessible at a good price.

The nose is very indulgent on banana, lemon, brown sugar and almond paste. When diving the nose into the glass, the waxed wood appears. The mouth is as indulgent as the nose, with the same notes plus a spicy side. It's soft and fruity. Finish on tropical fruits, banana in front and spices. It's very good, very fruity. I don't feel the "cuvée de l'océan" side.

The nose is woody, earthy, tobacco, floral, apple and fruit. In the mouth it is explosive with forest, wood, cork, hazelnuts, flowers and then red and sweet fruits, a balance of dry and sweet hints with some spice on the side on the finish, some peppery and savory notes, another 3R delight with its typical taste that I personally love. In the empty glass young wood. Fluctuates between 9.1 and 9.2 The taste changes depending on the stage of the day: In the morning: tannic, almost bitter, but deeper,warmer and enveloping. In the afternoon: explosive (review). At night: more nutty, less verticality, rounder.

The nose is not very pronounced, slightly spicy with a musty touch! Red berries and sour pear also come out at the end! On the palate, the woody, spicy, slightly salty notes dominate! The alcohol is super integrated, the finish continues similarly but is not very long! A tasty rum with good value for money!

Nose: intense spicy with pepper and some vanilla. Actually has something slightly salty, metallic. Iodine! Slightly woody and bitter, reminiscent of Retsina with Calvados. Also fruity towards green apple and clearly gooseberry. Interesting for an Agricole. Palate: clearly Agricole, but also here somewhat interestingly salty, bitter. Spicy with red pepper, and licorice, salted licorice. Also a bit resinous. In the finish comes more the green, grassy sugarcane towards tea, plus a bit earthy. An interesting and good Agricole with an excellent value for money.

Discreet color and a gourmand nose of sugar, cane juice. Soft and round mouthfeel, very enjoyable after tasting several rather vegetal old rums... Short finish with a slight touch of bitterness.

A good, albeit quite unusual Agricole. Many roasted aromas, to which some good Agricole notes are added. Comparatively round and few earthy/musty notes that often bother me in other bottlings, which is why I often don’t like Agricole. Not a high-end rum, but very tasty with a suitable price/performance ratio.

Le Trois Rivières Vieux de l’Océan is an atypical Martinican agricole rum, reduced with Caribbean seawater. It stands out with a powerful, iodized and salty palate, balanced by woody, spicy and fruity notes. Long, refreshing, with a marine minerality. • Iodized persistence reminiscent of the ocean.

Great rum. Whether it's the processed seawater that gives it a fine salty note, I'll leave to the romantics. Fine wood note that still lets the classic herbal citrus agricole notes come through. Better neat than in a long drink. Not my favorite, but definitely something different because of the salty notes.

It's an agricole to which sea water has been added to dilute it. I'd say a successful experiment. On the nose it's peppery and a bit sharp, you can smell vanilla and vegetal notes. On the palate it's more peppery and vegetal and a bit salty with a note of vanilla. The finish is quite long.

Delicious, fresh Agricole. Pear dominates on the nose, accompanied by exciting mineral notes. Some wood and hay. Medium-long finish, with iodine lingering for a long time. Not for every day, but occasionally, e.g., on a hot summer evening, this rum certainly brings joy.

(Tasting bottle half full) This is a rum with which I would advise great patience before judging it. At bottle opening several weeks ago, it was hard to hold it in high esteem. And yet over time and weeks I have seen a beverage that keeps improving. Between red fruit, vanilla, lemon, a fleeting and very light breeze of aged wood is felt. But not counting a singular iodine touch rare for an old rum that recalls the best of some white rums felt. A delight 39€ and it is really a gift.
