A piece of history. Intense and multi-layered on the nose and palate. A real experience!

Tasting of four rums from the nineteenth century. A very pure nose, you don't feel its age at all. But clearly on the dark side, wood and spices, dried fruits and old leather. The palate is incredibly lively and the aromas are present: old leather, cigar, lots of wood including cedar wood, dried fruits and stewed prunes, spices and licorice. The finish is long, complex and harmonious. The aromas fade together. A very beautiful experience for a historic rum!

Yesterday we had a great evening in my friends man-cave. Lots of laughter and wonderful rums. The oak is also dominant in this one though not too heavy to damage the other elements. A great and heavy rum.

My rating is due to the legendary nature of the bottle and the fact that I didn't have to pay for it to taste it. Otherwise I would have given it less...nothing to do with the exceptional Bally 1929. The degustative and rigorist side (snob that I am) of the taster aside, it's a moment blessed by the gods to be able to taste this legend for the last time...

The best on agricole is that the rum completly loose the sour taste after 80years in bottle. The taste become rounded, pure marmelade, nuts, vanilla with tipsy of old stuff like you smell when you visit your grandma house. Great rum that last in mouth for about 5 mins. Great for evenings sipping, it is tasty, the taste does not hit you in your face with every sip. The complexity and multiple layers push you to search for tastes continuously. These are also its disadvantage

Legend. Your life is never the same after tasting this rum. I had this rum at Whisky Live Paris some years back and it was one of the best spirits ever tasted.
