Quite a nice way to end the day with this Foursquare. On the nose I have mainly burnt sugar and some solvent. On the palate there's a lot of menthol, but also solvent, glue and wood.

Kind of average (and therefore heavily overpriced). The typical foursquare components are lacking power even at 57% abv. There are some spices and it is more on the fruity side (mango, papaya, dried fruits) but feels out of balance.

8,4:On the nose, the first impression is medicinal with nails polish, quickly turns into roasted and toasted notes with burnt sugar, gourmand butterscotch, dried fruits and woodiness, all other Bajan attributes as coconut, nutmeg, a pinch of cinammon and inevitable dryness, that ends with bourbon yellow fruits. Aeration brings out chocolate, pastries, caramelized nuts and later on tobacco, mocha and a bit weaker tropical fruits as banana and passion fruit. 8,5 :On the palate, nice bourbon notes hit our tasting buds with yellow fruits, the rum is dry, as we taste dried fruits, spicy with baking spices, underneath more and more menthol is felt. We quickly feel toasted wood and roastedness with caramelized roasted nuts, milk chocolate, leather, some metallic note is present. As we go along, butterscotch and pastries show up again, dried dates, burnt sugar, nutmeg and sweet spices that lead us into the finish. 8,3:The finish is warm, long with sweet spices, the wood is toasted with honey, dried fruits linger, dryness, some other notes as tobacco and roastedness(mocha) stay. At first this one didn’t make much of an impression on me but with a little extra time to breathe it expressed itself a little better. Mostly standard nose for a Foursquare - woody, sweet, baking spices, vanilla and slightly brighter fruit. Also a tick alchoholic. On the palate it was all the same kind of notes but maybe a little less balanced and refined than the best foursquares, with a noticeable tannic, drying sensation. Not their best but solid nonetheless.

Classic Foursquare profile on nose and palate, no frills. Vanilla, coconut, some toffee, all there. Very tasty sipper, no surprises. You can grab it.

Really regret not getting a second bottle. N: Whaft of paintstripper, dusty, burned caramel, cedar wood, dunnage warehouse, some light salty soy sauce, thai green curry, something floral in the background, oily tinned sardines, dry with a lot of depth on the nose, there is still some yeasty funkyness in there as well that I cant quite put my finger on. The nose is whispering and a bit more restraint. T: Silky, coconut, charred wood, finest milk pralinee chocolate, bit of lime & coke, fresh tobacco, sandalwood, pinetrees, red fruits, almonds,caramel fudge, pineapple F: Medium long and tropical, Pineapple, cigarsmoke

Well. What can I say? For Foursquare, relatively one-dimensional and almost meaningless. A few typical hints are definitely present, the alcohol is quite pleasantly integrated but somehow nothing more comes through. Warm, mild, likeable - nothing more, easy sipper.

My favourite style of rum! All way round and refined. Extremely well integrated 60%. Very delicate (almost sweet) solvent and matured fruitcake wirh honey to smell. Then comes sweetness and warmth of honeycomb. Finally you get long finish with cedar wood, stone fruit seeds, dark plum jam and jodine. My choice))

Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It's a rum especially appreciated by rum lovers who are fed up with sugar and looking for a smooth, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Simply pleasant and not aggressive flavors.
